Why go Republic? Something MUST be done

You go republic so you aren't forced to play Huttball every single time you queue for a Warfront. You go republic for instant queues and PvP. Make friends. Form a team. Rule the world and swim in valor.

Or just you know, whine about it.
HOW YOU LIKE YO EGGS?!?

You guys need to take a step back and ask WHY people are going to the Empire side.

Simply redoing the story MIGHT make some make an alt. But I know many players want to have empire character because they like the darkside of the force (lightning) and the baddies.

I personally hope they do not change the rep side, I do NOT want them give a jedi force lightning and the ability to use the dark side.

Every single person I know (and every major Guild I know) plays Horde in WoW. Blizzard still has faction balancing issues.

Seriously, everybody I ask says that the rep side is too "goody goody".....which Jedi's are supposed to be the good guys.

You cannot force people to play good guys if they want to play evil ones!

When I bought the game, I was going to go either Bounty Hunter or Smuggler. Smuggler clinched for me for a couple of reason.

1# I've played KOTOR and the Ebon Hawk a ship I grew to love... And the XS is the Ebon Hawk's lovechild. And the Falcon's granddaddy not to forget.

2# I get to be like Han bloody Solo.

3# Wookie companion

3# My rl mates went republic, so did I.

The reason I wanted to go Bounty hunter was because they get jet packs and arm mounted missile launchers, I could pretend to be Jango Fett.

Their ship looks horrible in my opinion though...

FOR THE REPUBLIC, AND FOR SMUGGLERS EVERYWHERE...

Anger us and we'll kick you in the junk... Alot.

Another example of how player preference dictates what classes they play. A lot of people (myself included) likes the Smuggler story, this person doesn't. they are not wrong and has every right to not like it. So is it BopWare fault they hate the Smuggler Story and rolled an Empire? No because others like it and rolled Republic.

I know right. For me my Shadow is my PvP toon. I saw someone with it on and was like... "Oh... My... God... Can I be as cool as you?"

None of my other 8 class story characters I play look that good.

I'm kinda undecided on this... I've got 3 Republic characters and 3 Empire characters. One thing I have noticed is that on the republic side you get a LOT more credits early on in the game. I found that on my Empire characters if I crafted much at all I was broke most of the time; Go over to republic, craft my heart out and end up well in excess of the speeder money needed by level 22-23.

I have to agree that the Jedi Knight storyling is BORING. God, I couldn't stand it, and I've pretty much given up on that character except for crafting. But the other storylines seem pretty awesome later on. Anyone who said you didn't get cool evil options on the Republic side really should roll a consular - Won't spoil it but you pretty much get to make an evil choice at every major storyline part up to level 25 at least.

But also, on the flip side of that Jedi knight storyline, I find the Empire storylines a bit ludicrous at times. I'll put this next comment in a spoiler tag - Don't read it if you haven't completed at least Act 1 on a bounty hunter.
Spoiler

But that said, there are some great bits in it that I wouldn't of missed. I just don't understand the hating on the republic storylines.

I have to say though that PvP can be really frustrating on the Republic side. I don't know if I'm just unlucky or there is an imbalance on the level of the Republic players, but when playing that side we always seem to have a team that averages 15-20 levels less than the other team. The character I play most on Republic side is a level 30 shadow at the moment, but every person I see on the Imp's side seems to be 40+, and we end up with levels 15-30 people, with maybe 1 level 40.

Not only this, but it seems to be that a lot of the more experienced team PvP'ers seem to have migrated to Empire on our server. I log in my 43 BH and jump in a Warzone and the Imps are organised and fight well. Jump on the republic side and it's like trying to herd chickens 70% of the time. I don't normally ragequit on warzones, I'd say I've got more patience than most that I see and will stick a fight out to the very end if I feel we're trying to work as a team, but when I jump into a WZ and 5 out of our 8 players are running around trying to solo everything, especially on huttball, I just get pissed off and leave. But I don't seem to experience this on the Empire side.

This is all on my server alone mind you. I haven't tried any US servers.

I think very little can be done. I hope things will even out more when this game gets older. But faction imbalance will never go away entirely.

BH ship is another trash dump and it also suffers from bad lighting. Sith Fury is a tight little oval but a very bland. Last ship I have to see is the trooper but Ord Mantel is such a pain to level up on, as is Hutta.
The Thunderclap looks kind of odd on the outside with the B-wing style of wings and the lay-out is kind of confusing at first but it looks crispy clean and polished. It looks plausible to be used for a small strike team to be transported to their location and be briefed and equipped during flight.

The BH ship feels a bit cramped and the third engine just looks weird to me. I am happy it's not a Slave-1 knockoff as I had initially expected. It actually reminded me of the Firefly-class ship (and on a side note: please let us make toy dinosaurs to use as decoration for the pilot's console!).

Port Nowhere is mostly Empire, but Republic dominates Warzones. It takes hours to get the 3 wins on Empire.

I play Republic because Dark Jedi are more morally appealing to me than Sith (light or dark).

I completly disagree. The Republic story lines are by far the most interesting and varied. The Empire story lines are just go here, kill this, make pathetic attempt at 'bad-***' one-liner, repeat. So far, the Jedi Knight story line is the most epic in the game. And the Smuggler has the most humerous. The Counseler story line is a little dry overall, but it does consistently have entertaining moments (ie. going Monty Python on the Noeticon of Questions happened to make my day, "What? I don't know the answer to that!" lol). Haven't gotten that far into Trooper story line, but most people I know tell me that it's pretty good. I also think that the Republic armor is much better looking. Much more clean and frankly, different. The Imperial armor all looks the same. The Sith Warriors all look like droids. The Sith Inquisitors all look like the are doing S&M. The Agents all look like flight attendents. The BH is the only one with decent looking armor, but still, not much variety. That and the Imps (at least on my server) almost never have more that 3-6 people on Illum (and there are usually around 50 people on the planet).
