Empire is easy mode. Everyone and their grandma is playing empire.
Hard mode: Play Republic
Nightmare mode: Play Republic on a pvp server
Are you man enough for the challenge ? Aunt Satele wants YOU.
Republic. No kids allowed.

I tried playing Republic but in WZ Republic are rarely a full team! Its that bad now.

I disagree.

I'm leveling my Jedi Consular at the moment and I'm having alot of fun, I'm acutally very pleased with the story.

Also, I tried a Sith Inquisitor, but I didn't like the feel of the Empire in any way. After a while I realised I was making all my decision against the Empire and was nice to everyone they had captured or whatever. I can't play a faction I don't like.

Also, I like the feel of the Jedi Ship alot more then the Sith one.

The Republic is better because we get better-dressed enemies and a target-rich environment. And I don't like Huttball.

Many of the designers outright said they we're gonna be playing Sith Characters. They just got more attention in all aspects. I have a lvl 50 Guardian and a level 30 Trooper and feel no desire to play them. Out of all those quests on my guardian I can remember maybe 3 or 4 cool moments. Where on my Sith I can think of 10+.

Why go Republic? Because being a LS Sith just hasn't worked out for me the couple of times I've tried rolling Imp alts. I'm just not that much of a jerk - even in a video game! ... Well, unless you count being a DS Trooper. Hilarious. Plus I love Jennifer Hale.

If you want to hang out with all the little kids on the Imperials then go ahead. Because remember, the cool kids ALWAYS want to be the bad guys.

As for the "best looking gear design" sorry I have to disagree.
The best looking gear design is by far the Trooper for me.
