I think I know what's causing poor FPS for some users (no fix yet)

i think ppl who found the the ways of making game better should make a game and bioware should play it...

I thought about doing this as I have a way of doing it that is completely different than the way it's been posted before. My way involves the user interface of IM Virtual Disk then nothing but dragging and dropping files within Windows. I'm off to work now so if the OP or anybody else seems interested I'll start on it tonight when I get home.

Well, they did get £35 game, 2 months sub's, Cancelled. They saying im one of the 5% core i7.
8 mem. 480 sli. 2 raid ssd.

If they lie, and surrport is crap. Game will be dead soon.

99% you won't get one. Bioware or ea probably won't allow any official recognition of poor coding or any workaround, especially since any fix would have to involve an extensive engine rewrite, which they probably won't do.

would love to see a fix, though.

pvp is sorta fun in groups, when i have a decent framerate.

ah well i removed art_fx file and my fps is always 55+ in wz's but would be nice to see some light sabers

I will probably do the Art_fx thing for my laptop, would rather play smooth terrible looking warzones than ok looking choke my computer slideshows.

Just do as I did: unsub and wait for a fix. If they do, resub. If not, well... I can always go back to WoW...

not sure if it will help but its worth a try. i am running an HP quad core laptop 6gb ram nvidia gt 230m gpu and i am usually around 60fps with everything on low and res set to the one above 800x600 ....think its 1024 x 768 or something i think it is . the only place i have issues is in the fleet when it gets up over a population of 120 or so.. my machines have always ran games very well except for when i bought eq2 and had less than 1gb of ram ... that was painful .

as a healer in every game i have played i have always set everything fairly low even if it ran fine just incase it decided to lock up while healing and people die... the sacrifices us healer make for you guys... lol.

anyways yesterday i was messing around with game booster 3 just for fun to see if i could gain a few more fps and i did .with boost enabled i gained about 30fps and that had me bouncing around the 100ish fps area while walking around corellia. yes likemany have stated above when i started walking it would drop to about 80ish which from a free download gaining 20 or so fps is not that bad.

so maybe some should give it a try ..

**fyi don't add the swtor shortcut to the game box like it asks due to the launcher and the game being "seperate" and the game won't launch that way. just download and run it... tweak it a bit if needed as to what it shuts down in the background..

**also it will ask you to install a smart defrag and a pc system care program .. i did install them but did not run them yet so maybe hold off on those until i give them a try please.
