If you haven't beat the end game content, how is there lack of end game content?

The complaint I see most in this forum is:

Lack of end game content.

When posed with the question "Have you beaten all the end game/hard mode content and have a full set of gear?" they will usually answer no. There is usually the claim that they don't want to or they assume they can beat it.

(Yes, that is an assumption, but I see quite often.)

So...for those of you who say the game lacks end game content please expand on what you want to see at end game. If you haven't beaten all the end game content, and you don't have a full set of gear, please explain why that doesn't equate to end game content.
You don't have to have a level 50 to know what content is available at end game. There are two options at end game. One is to do the TOR equivalent of raiding. Two is to do the TOR equivalent of battlegrounds. I've done both of these things extensively in WoW. I got bored of both in WoW and quit. Why would I want to go to another MMO just to end up doing the same things that bored me in the MMO I left?

My main, a gunslinger, is currently level 44. I love the story aspect of the game, though I wish the ratio of class quests to side quests was reversed to enhance replayability. I'll stay subscribed as long as the story driven portion of the game keeps me entertained (until I get my gunslinger to 50 and perhaps an Imperial of some type to 50). However, I'm not about to stay subscribed long term just to be subjected to an end-game that is a carbon copy of WoW's.

I was hoping for crafting to be an actual endgame. I have done hardmodes of raids and my guild is working on Nightmare but I still prefer crafting and TOR's crafting is not great.

The crafting on this game is pretty bad I agree. At first it seems cool - but then it also falls apart at the endgame.

Most of the items I spent days learning were easily replaced by simply obtained rewards from Daily Quests... It was pretty disheartening and I've been having a really hard time finding a use for my craft ever since.

Bioware needs to release entire new planets of PvE questing with their major updates, not just Ops and flashpoints and a few new dailies.
This ^^ And please also add new chapters to our stories.

Don't see it. PVP people complain about lack of open PVP, warzones etc. PVE people complain about lack of story and content.
I'm sorry but it will take months for them to create another planet AND I'm afraid that another planet will last for less than a week.

And then - back to the same old boring routine.
REMEMBER: People in PVP don't hate you. They just want you dead :-)

End-game content is lacking. only 2 bosses left for a full clear with only 2 sometimes 3 raids a week and the only reason for this is that other bosses are almost always bugging so we have to spend extra time every raid.

Is it lacking badly raid-wise? No. It is not worse than any other mmo at start but if anyone asks me if its lacking i'll say it is. The bosses do not really do anything new so it is kinda boring as well. The mechanics dont really ever change they don't gain new abilities or new ways to kill.

If they make nightmare bosses always like this: Minus X seconds to enrage time Plus Y to HP bar and Plus Z to damage dealt. It is not a different content anymore. It is only a gear check for you to do same things as you did before with more numbers. THAT is the wrong in this.

I don't like to use other game examples much but since i played wow for so long.. think wow it was an easy game as well but you really did different tactics on heroic bosses they did different things abilities change etc.

The flashpoint added in 1.1 was said to have been ready to add for a year before the game's official release. The developers have a ton of stuff waiting to be released already.

In addition, an interview taken of the lead writer said that the storyline for each class will be expanded in the future in 3-chapter arcs, similar to the first 50 levels. Though I don't think he actually stated if they were going to come out in patches, or expansions.

The quote from this interview here is really why had high hopes for crafting. Obviously it's anything but the best. Frankly the Ilum/Belsavis dailies not only give you the best mods which make armoing, mods, hilt and enhancements but they also give BiS Bind on Equip Rakata Implants AND Earpieces which make artifice and armstech pointless.

Synthweaving and Armormech are also pointless. People just crit craft the Rakata bracers/belt for both crew skills and drop it. The min/maxers at least do it but after that there really is no point.

Reverse engineering for better schematics is a good idea but there needs to be someway for people to inflence it or instead turn it into another crew skill everytime you RE an item a bar fills up and once at max you can choose once of the possible prefixes.

For me making alts is still satisfying the coming time, I haven't played one char yet to 50, my main is level 46. I started some alts already and I'm sure they will keep me engaged for several months still. I might do some PvP eventually or do a flashpoint at times, but I will not do the end game gear grinding.

I've tried raiding in some other MMO's, but I found it just plain boring to do the same dungeons over and over. If i've seen them once or twice (or if they are out of my league never), it's more than enough. And yes, i'm probably a "casual" player, but I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one around.
