You mean people actually care about mvp votes?

I'm a healer, and the lack of medals is discouraging.
I admit, it's very appreciated to get singled out and catch a MVP vote or two from time to time.

From a humble scoundrel healer... Thanks, and thanks for sticking up against a retarded op too.

Why don't you make yourself useful and come up with some additional medals healers can get instead of a lame qq about your deeepppzz being overlooked by people who appreciate a more well rounded war zone experience!

Because no one cares about people who top damage charts. any fool can do damage and its anyone's guess if that damage was deven helpful to the team, Healing on the other hand is easy to see if its helping or not. If I am running the ball, and suddenly i have a sorc bubble me and throw heals as I am being focused, allowing me to cross the goal line, There is irrefutable evidence that that healer is helping win the game. Healers don't get a ton of medals, so I am more than happy to help them out with a mvp vote.

That being said I usually vote mvp for the highest OBJECTIVES score (which needs serious attention by the devs, as I have scored 3 times and still had 0 objective score at the end of a match)

I've seen people mindlessly give tanks with 50k damage and 10k protection MVP too.

As a healer, I always MVP the tanks, unless there's somebody else who stood out to me as an exceptional player.

If it makes you feel any better, tanks have the easiest time getting medals, so you'll still farm Valor faster than any healer.

When you play an underpopulated faction, healers are rare. I've played 10 warzones in a row without a single healer. So when, on those rare occasions, we finally get a GOOD healer, that person gets MVP. It's a no-brainer.

I give my MVP vote to whatever player was most responsible for our victory.

Very often it is our team receiving heals that makes the largest impact, but not always.

In Huttball and Void Star, neither damage nor heal rating imply if you had the largest impact or not.

If a player sits in the middle of Huttball and fights non-stop, they can rack up a high damage amount. Similarily, a player could stand up on the ramps and heal the players fighting in the center, ending up with a large amount healed.

In neither case would those players have actually tried to score, or assist the ball carrier. Yet they will likely receive MVP votes because of their larger numbers.

The same goes for Void Star. A player could be ninja'ing doors and propelling their team forward, but because they are being sneaky they wont have fought many fights and will have a lower damage/heal count than a player who just attacks groups of enemies.

Case in point, a game two days ago when I ninja'ed the second door, took down a force field, and ninja'ed the final door allowing us to get to the database computers and win. No MVP votes.

That's just how it goes in PUGs.

Healers do since they help make up for the lost valor/commendations that they would have otherwise got if they were just DPS'ing.

I always vote for the tank the guards me IF i can determine which it was. Unlike green numbers flying up over your head that isn't always easy to do. As for not healign my guard well I try to run double hot's but if your life is dropping because mine is your mitigation is enough for my heals to keep me up if I get my backside cleaned while self casting heals or if I have my CC up. My CC has longer CD's so after round 1 it's usually down.

Healers get votes because that guy that was in a double fight who walks away alive with 2 people dead, saw your name 40 times in the process. You get his/her vote.

If your running the ball and getting Focused you see the green from the healer getting smashed while throwing everything they've got on you to keep you up, particularly when your standing still stunned unable to pass.

Most WZ's tanks only use guard early to medal farm then no more (you don't get many votes after that do you). I know on my PT if I guard someone obviously I almost always get at least 1 mvp vote. I'll guess it was from them.

It's not just the healing numbers that are obvious it's the name in green on the floating text. So If I have a double hot + cast time and surgical probe spam on a guy they notice. If it happens regularly or in a critical moment they notice more. They therefore know who was critical to their experience that WZ and MVP vote ensues.
