i've had it happen to my team exactly once so it hasn't affected me personally too much...

at the time we were like "yes a score... wha?!?"

against a powertech bh, ya just throw him the ball, it kills him, get ball back immediately, score...

the other thread was a stealthed assassin so it's not possible to throw him the ball, but the workaround is to go to the extreme sides of the endzone to get the score...

my personal opinion is that it should still be allowed, but if you do get pulled, it still counts as a score even if you die...

if i had a well known person doing this on my server, i'd warn everyone on my team beforehand what to do in ops chat if i was grouped against him...

Huttball Goalie Tactic

This is the goalie strategy some use, to stop an overwhelming force...

So take a peek at the video and you decide.. is this a overlook on game mechanic being exploited? Or is this a fair play tactic designed to be utilized?

So should it stay or should it go??? Please comment below
It's cheesy but if done wrong the person will still score. Also there is still the timer in that area and if they don't leave they get booted.

Having said that. I use it the odd time reason being because I submitted it as a ticket. Asking if it was working as intended. All I got back was they were investigating and passed to the relevant team. So until I hear a "not working as intended so don't use it" from a yellow name, it will still be used.

Simple way round it would be to make it so the whole area in scoreable (is that a word). So if anyone pulls you up there, you instant die but WILL always score. That will stop people using it.

That was another point. The goal hangers. This is a good way to deal with them. Especially if you don't know they are there because they are stealth, then suddenly appear when the ball carrier is near. So pulling them up is fair game if they are going to goal hang. You get no goal in football for goal hanging as the ref would disallow it, so this combats that in Hutt Ball.

That's the end of a reply I got from one of the CS reps when I reported someone for this earlier.

Last night my guild and me had this happen 4 times in a single game none of them scoring the ball, we ended up loosing 3-2 because of this, and no they we're not killing themselves and spawning up there. They were actively resetting their deserter debuff to ensure that we were unable to score again.

While I have no problem with getting pulled into enemy spawn specially if its going to give me the score, right now its not doing that so I say exploit.

If they fix it so that every time I cross the line whether at the 0 z axis or the 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 00000000000000000 z axis I still get a point then fine, because I know once ppl realize that only helps the other team they'll stop real quick

Here's the deal

1) it's an insta-kill
2) the death field is there to keep the opponents from camping your spawn
3) you have to cheese the wz kick mechanic to stay up there

Finding some way to cheese the game geometry to avoid penalties/evade damage, etc is a classic example of exploiting and has been for as long as we've been playing these games.

Cheaters gonna cheat

They'll fix this as it is clearly not intended
I'd still say it's not an exploit. If it was then pulling people into the fire, goal hanging, pulling your own ball carrier to the line etc are all exploits. But they are not. If someone is goal hanging or a group of people are, this is a good way to stop the goal hangers.

So if it happened 4 times you should spot the player who is doing it and pass to someone who is has the immune buff. Or try to get yourself CCed before it. Then break the CC then go for the line. If you resolve is up, they can't pull you.

I was an inch away from the goal line the other day and got pulled backwards by a BHer up to the fire area ledges. I didn't call it an exploit, it was perfect timing by the BHer.

I am the biggest anti exploiter out there. However I like that huttball is an anything goes zone and I like it. It is possible to counter this behavior so I see no problem

Huttball is awesome

Sarcasm aside, this does seem like a poor mechanic, but I do not see it as a big deal. If one person is standing on his own goal line, running around to reset his debuff, his team is not likely to score a goal because they are essentially playing a person short. Eventually the other team will score due to resolve or shroud or what have you. It might result in a lower score game, but the times when it will actually affect the outcome are going to be very, very rare.

Guess that means we should all be able to download a speed hack and use it in huttball because the announcer said it's ok
