We ran a pug with half the group in green level 45~ gears, most never had done a HM flashpoint, no one had rekata aside for the daily commendation stuff, only 1-2 people had full columi, and once we got the hang of it, we rolled the boss. We even had a tank vanguard who was only dpsing (switching tank on normal is a waste of time), and only one ranged dps aside for that (more ranged dps would make it easier). No enrage.
Good for you. You are absolutely amazing. Now, can you please tell me _when_ did you do this fight on normal (so I can check if some patch broke this) ? Because my guild confirms the same thing that folks here are saying. We wiped with enrage at 10-12% on normal with absolutely perfect and fast puzzle solving. Of course, I admit that many were not well geared, but hey this is _normal_ mode.

Then my guild leaders did this on 8man hard and cleared this boss with no trouble. The same guys were solving the puzzle so it wasn't time taken in solving it. They ALSO confirm this boss fight is much easier on hard than on normal.

In response to the OP, yes I have noticed more droids spawning this week on 4th boss. My guild still managed to down him on normal. We'll be running hard on monday so I'll reply with my opinion then.

Definitely seemed more challenging, didn't remember being stunned before

Marvelous fight btw, very refreshing.

So the thing I noticed is more of a question for those that ran it prior to the fix for Bioware saying not enough droids were spawning. I was pretty sure on 8 man normal that the center igniter still debuffed the boss making him consume all the droids. This did not appear to happen when we were running it this week and thus we didn't get past this boss. We kept losing the guys doing the puzzle because there were too many droids and nothing clearing them. Is the middle igniter only clearing them on Hard and Nightmare now?

I don't recall the middle one ever clearing them on normal. All 3 on normal give the huge damage boost whereas on Hard/Nightmare it's different. You were actually supposed to have more of the droids spawning, and now they have fixed it. It's not completely free loot anymore, although it's still pretty easy.

There seems to be a lot of misinformed/quick to judge elitists on here that are missing the entire point. For those who know what they are doing, the difficulty of this boss isn't the problem. The problem lies with the fact that the normal mode version is significantly harder than the hard mode version. The fact that this boss is noticabley harder on normal than he is on hard says quite clearly that something is not working as intended.

He even has more HP on Normal than Hard. Something is definately amiss here.

He always had, because you only get the damage debuff on him in normal mode, which means you could burn him down faster than on hard or nightmare mode.

You can call us elitist if you want but the fight is still simple. There is no reason a geared group should be hitting an enrage timer unless they are just bad. The problem is bioware made everything so easy that when they put in something that doesn't just fall over on the first try people come here and start to complain. I personally find the normal mode no harder than hard or nightmare. On normal every single position allows for a massive damage boost. On hard and nightmare you don't get that benefit. To me it makes sense that you'd have more hp on normal because even though he has higher health you get increased damage every single time. On nightmare you get increased damage in one spot which means the fight is still going to take longer even with less hp. Learn to adapt your strategy rather than coming on here complaining about how hard it is. If it were a bugged encounter then by all means report the bugs but in this case it's how the fight is designed and if you do it properly and use some strategy it's easily doable.

That was 2 days after the last update, this week. So no patch changed it. The thing to understand is that puzzle solving speed and how fast you shoot the droid with flames is more important than anything else. 300 percent damage is huge, bigger than anything rekata gear will do. So on our successful run we dedicated 3 people, including melees as its all we had, to solve it in just a few seconds, and fired asap even if it meant risking killling a dps with it. People doing the puzzle would just blow up the mines and healers cleaned up, to save more time.

When we tried to optimise dps and play it safe as well as doing the puzzle slower, he would enrage at as much as 30 percent. With less people fighting and faster solve time, he dropped before he ever enraged. That fight on normal is pure brain not brawn, to accomodate, people in crap gear. They just forgot gear is easier to get than good players, making HM easier

Again: im not arguing the fact that if this is easier on hardmode, then there's a problem. I just feel its hard mode that needs to get harder. If a group of green geared melee pugs with little HM/Ops experience can do it without hitting enrage can do it after a few tries even after the last patch...

Quick Question...

Just tried this fight (on normal) for the first time last night. When the sticky bomb is thrown on someone in melee range should/are they able to notice it via a debuff and run out from the group to avoid the splash damage or should it just be healed through?

It blinks over their character with a target reticle followed by a flashing bomb on you. You have several seconds to get out and if no one does, healers wont keep up. We had issues in our group from people who were not paying attention at all, so on our success run, we got lucky most bombs hit me or the healer... otherwise, ouch....
