Testify brother! Maybe just a ratin' 1-5, I personally am not a huge fan of a system of this type, only because it's too open to abuse, but if it didn't effect player X's game play, just showed their overall rating, I suppose this could be a system worth looking into. There's a similar thread about "Player Policing", yikes.

Yay for both!
Edit: Yay for all three! (Patch, Hate Mail, and Dungeon Finder!) Heh.

I get a chuckle

Damn you for showing me another thread I feel compelled to comment on. Arrrrgh if only I didn't have all this free time because of no Flash Points to run, I wouldn't comment on all these "hot topics" that people seem to absolutely loose their minds over.

I have to disagree wit ha rating system that others can see. Far to open for abuse!
Ill give a prime example. My jedi shadow is full on tank specced and geared.
Since she is restricted to light armor only i have her in full slave girl outfit. I have also feed her blue and purple mods from my other alt that is max cybertech. Her stays are flat out amazing.
BUT i have had a few people kick her from heroic groups once they see her. With tells of learn to gear noob. Your a sexist for dressing her like that. You dont take the game seriously we dont want you.
I do NOT want these type of people being able to rate me! Ignore me yes Since i ignored them also but a rating system would allow those people to low rate me for no good reason and their for have a effect on my game play.
I still firmly say that the ONLY thing needed is cross server ignore. It takes care of every problem related to running across some one you would rather not group with again.

I hear all this BUT the communities deserves to know about these bad people. I disagree! If these players are bad enough you do as you would in real life and let the cops ( in this case BW) know and you let the people in charge take the actions needed!
Any thing else verges on what would be slander in real life!

Now i do think a personal rating system that only the person giving the rating can see could work out. Say i ended up in a random with joe the tank. Now the run went of but could had been better i could rate the tank 4 out of 5 stars, next run i get jane the tank and the run is stellar and i give her 5 stars. next run jim the tank just blows can barely hold agro its abusive in chat and the run fails. I rate him 0 stars.
The system could try to group place me with people i have rated higher on the star list and never group me with people i zero star or /ignore.
Personally i can see trying to code such a system being a nightmare when trying to match up everyones star ratings in the group.
A whole lot of work for some thing that /ignore could take care of for the most part.

But all that really belongs in the other thread about self policing and makes me be semi off topic. But since it was brought up here i wanted to give my 2 credits worth in response.

Myself i am not far from voting with my wallet. Its not a threat is a fact. I have a long list of games i play already one less is not going to hurt me and i have almost seen all the story lines i wanted.
Now the fanboys will just claim run along then why are you still here!
I am here because i love the game and the IP and want to see it be successful!
If i didnt care about the game i would had left well before beta ended!
If you want to know who helps BW the most at improving the game. Its the people who love the game but are not blinded by its faults. Those of us that care enough to let BW know what needs to be fixed. Blind fanboys that cant see past their nose and are always telling bw their game is perfect help the game none at all!

So, there don't really need to be so many pages. Better LFG system, yes. Cross Server ANYTHING? Hell no.

One of the things that people don't realize is that WoW uses the laziest and most easy system. Dungeons and Dragons Online uses the BEST system. An easy to use LFG tool that allows you to advertise to every player on your server. I mean, a board you can pull up at any time to look at, see all the groups that are looking for more.

All in all, cross server systems are no good for community. I'd rather see them do a server merge before bringing in a system that allows for zero accountability.

I selected that I did not enjoy the flashpoints and then explained in the free text field the lack of proper LFG support.

After unsubscribing I then got asked per mail ("Tell us what you think") to fill out a survey in which one selectable answer was a long the lines that I could not find a party for the content I wanted to do.

I'd like to add this. When I was playing WOW and made my 2nd,3rd and so on character. I didn't bother with the story any more and I could only think on one thing. When will the next dungeon start. So I was basically queued for random dungeons the whole time. This was my whole world there and I expect this to see here also

Sure Swtor is fun for the first number of characters, but once you seen the story it gets old.
I'm playing my second tune now and only slamming space, space, space during conversions I have already seen.

So I really hope we get this random dungeon finder soon.

I also heard the WOW got a raid finder now also. Well they teasing me now.....

The cross server is not the problem tbh. its the LFD of wow that is.

A cross server if done well, can actually work. But it would need filters so that you have a real choice about the groups you go in or build. We all have a different idea of this game, the thread does prove this very well - to let everyone in 1 pool will just end in a big chaos, like at wow.
If Casuals could player together, progress or elitistīs and "adults / kids" then the system would actually deliver somekind of support and help for the different player types.

There are games that offer such things, for instance LoL. There a newbie will not run into a high ranked player, while this is pvp it could aswell be applied to Tor - just that people can select how experienced they are or how skilled and how fast the run should be.

I also think that it would be necessary to have somekind of chat and f-list available then. I know it from wow, that if you really found a couple of nice players - you will never see them again after the run. While this is seldom, it does still happen - its a shame to never hear of each other again.
