Never have I tried so hard to like a game

Well I can't decide to either level my shadow, or marauder at a slower pace (I am thinking about 2 levels a day), or just start leveling every class until I find one I enjoy so much that I don't mind anything else (by that I mean in terms of gameplay not story, because I think I could deeply enjoy any class story). Well I have yet to play today, and I am thinking of taking a few day break to think about it.

Kind of interesting that WoW almost tanked an entire expansion to change the the original expansion levelling content exactly away from this sport of levelling...

It was a huge gamble on their part as many said doing so hurt their endgame... That being said, nothing comes close to the way WoW does questing and levelling, and companies would do well to pay attention to that.

You can't be serious.

If not, then i dont know what to say. WoW questing is boring and a grind that has no actual purpose (you dont care why you're doing it) and its just a stepping stone to the end game.
There are 1 interesting quests for 100 boring ones... usually cause they are just a mini-game of some sort.

SWTOR doesnt feel like a grind at all. If you've played any bioware single player game, you know its exactly the same thing all the way to level cap. Its a formula that works and millions work. I really cant understand people who dont like it and yet purchased this game.

Same here OP. It's like this game has some great potential but judging by what we've seen that potential will simply never be added to the game. We expected to find a living, thriving universe when we logged in and instead we only found a bunch of 1s and 0s put together into something odd.

Honestly they should've spent another year or so injecting life into the universe and stuff to do at end game.

Also, Ragnarok Online is awesome. Been playing that game for almost 8 years now. It's probably the grindiest game imaginable (even at max level) so if you've gotten to max level on there (especially before Renewal) but you can't handle the SWTOR leveling grind, well that definitely says something bad about the game. Keep in mind all of Ragnarok's quests are optional as well and there's 0% story while leveling up.

One thing I've noticed in mmo's is that people always expect them to be everything they ever wanted. They move from game to game to game and constantly anticipate the next big mmo being marketed. They hype the next big game up, build computers, visit fansites, mark calendars, brew in the anticipation, and in the end the game will never live up to all the hype they've created in their own mind.

This is pretty much the case for most people who are quitting this game. I'm sure Guild Wars 2 will come out and the same thing will happen for most of them. I'm sure most of them have a dead Rift account, and Aion, and Lotro, and Warhammer. Mists of Pandaria will come out and they'll probably crawl back to that and never be fully satisfied. Maybe you just need to find a new hobby or genre.

I'm not saying any of the games I listed are bad, were bad, or are going to be bad. Some people still play and will play all of them. But there's always a huge migration of people every time the next big thing is released.

I never felt Rift would be big at all, and got bored of it after 3 days played... The one I felt would be a better game at the same time they were both in development was TERA.

I figured they would be released at close to the same time, and TERA was released out east and is due here in May. Not sure how it will end up being, but it still looks like it has some decent prospects.

That being said, people who dropped WoW over Cata or negative hype about MoP, I'm sure will be going back there when it's likely it could be the best expansion released to date.

For me, it was hockey. Still don't get it. Other than the penalty box. That's awesome.

As far as forcing yourself to play a game, you are doing it wrong.

I stop playing something I'm not enjoying.

If I ever pay money for something, and I can't get my money back, I certainly don't let it take my money 'and' my time?
MOTD - One Giant Server - When I'll Need To Make My 'Bucket-List' List 1. I'm not having fun any more. 2. Puritans. 3. One or more characters were renamed in a server merge. 4. Something given to 'all characters on account' are not given to 'all characters on account'. 5. Design by Committee.
