Yeah but everyone is scratching their heads at the Panda Bear expansion, I think it will be the final nail in their coffin.

Entirely possible. I see all these people going "omg, star wars is gonna kill wow" or "omg, GW2 is gonna kill wow" or whatever game is coming out in the near future, and i just laugh my *** off. I've always said the only thing that can kill wow now is blizzard, and it looks like they might.

Tortoises your fanaticism shows. You're a little delusional. WoW is the biggest MMO currently and it's the game that, on your words, "owns the market" not SWTOR. As you said, the truth hurts. When Mists of Pandaria releases, I strongly believe WoW will actually gain subscriptions from their current loss, as it always happens with every expansion prior.

SWTOR is a good game, but it is too similar to WoW. For the guy on this thread that said "people are tired of WoW's raid or die gameplay so they came to SWTOR" you are either below level 50 or blind. SWTOR will compete tooth and nail against WoW because they are very similar games, with very similar mechanics and a casual focus.

On the other hand, GW2 is a different type of game. It's mean to be a game for the semi-hardcore player who is already tired of playing the same MMO formula for over 10 years. This demographic is less than the casual one, however. GW2 will take away that type of players off SWTOR, and even if people don't believe it, it is actually a pretty substancial chunk of players.

We'll see what happens further down the road.

WOW is already dead. They simply manage to continue cashing in on subscription fees after the killer got away.

What will really be the sign is when some truely good competition comes out. Your looking at 2 possibly 3 new MMOs comming out mid year with some both interesting settings/lore and some fairly non standard ways of setting up questing, mechanics etc.

What will be of most interest to me is how much the Current Standard (Wow, Rift, SWtor) systems/mechanics stand up so some of the upcomming MMos that have either taken barely similar to totally different appraches and how people react to the differences.

I know one of the upcomming will likely have a non monthly subscirption. which can mean many things possibly including a lack of treadmill mechanics to keep one subbed. which also means it may be easier for someone to have more LIVE mmos in their playing library.

I know it will allow me to keep up on atleast one more MMO, question is, will this be one of them.

TLR: Those who still like SWtor when more competition is out will still be here, those who don't, won't, and thats about all thats "for sure".

I'm just gonna assume that you had trouble comprehending my point and clarify something for you.

No, you do not agree with me. I only mentioned star wars because it falls into the "everything not blizzard" category. It doesn't matter if this game had 1 million or 10 million subs at the one month mark, it could not "kill" wow, i think only Blizzard can do that now.

And I'm not even gonna get into the ludicrous "dead-born project" comment, because I've had my fill of you people for today.

Honestly. The only MMO that could truly kill them all, would be an MMO properly done by Bethesda concerning the Elder Scrolls world.

Aside from something that will probably never happen, we have WoW and SWTOR.

I am sorry but SWTOR is an amazing MMO and it will be here to stay, keep paying a subscription to hate, you are helping development costs.

I'm in my last 16 days of play and I'm not sure what they could add to the game to get me to resubscribe. I'm guessing the Legacy feature might do it, if it's actually cool and not like some kind of PvE talent tree for leveling. The high level players are bored, and the people who don't feel like leveling another character aren't going to stick around for too long.
