oh ok
Our lack of a proper LFD tool will black out the sun!
Then we shall cancel our subs in the shade!

If the price remains the same - new sales will have ground to the expected trickle... maybe 50k/month and I have no doubt they'll be losing customers faster than that.

In that scenario... there won't be a lot of people on the 30-day free period... so I'll say we're probably looking at something just a bit over 1 mil... 1.2... 1.1.

If they do start giving out free trials... or have free trial weekends and count those people as 'active subcribers' - I have no idea. It could reach the 2.5 mil you mention.

whats your basis for that opinion. So far it is outselling any past MMO including the big one and it has not even hit all the markets yet. Why would it all of a sudden ground to a trickle. Doom sayers were predicting a massive drop in subs after the 30 days were up but instead subs have increased increased. I would predict another upward spike in sales in March when it goes live in Australia and other pacific countries.

1 I think continued growth until about autumn when it should level out to I say around 3 to 3.5 million which isn't earth shattering but it's respectable.

.
3-3.5 in the first year would make it the biggest sub base for a 1st year MMO in History if my memory servers me. It would also be the second largest P2P MMO currently in the western markets. Also, if wow continues it current sub lose rate of the past year SWTOR would actually become the largest with those numbers.

Well given the current graph, we have 2 million who bought the game.

We have 1.7 million who paid a subscription after their free month.

Where do we go from here?

These are MONSTER Subscription rates.

This shows that SWTOR is not only here to stay, but OWNS THE MMO MARKET CURRENTLY!!

If you are an investor, then why wouldn't you feel comfortable investing in SWTOR? I noticed a great sense of calm after the EA Stockholder and Investment meeting.

It means that the development costs are already paid off and they are turning profit now.

I originally predicted close to 6 million subscribers after their first year.

But if course that relies on a number of things like:

Major Content Patches

Meaningful PvP

Bug Fixes

Patches

Drivers

Getting rid of Sharding

Optimization in general.

When looking at a Triple A Company like Bioware though, and the other huge gaming distributor, EA, I can see how this is a game of destiny. No one is going to let this baby fail, and it already has its foothold.

Except for the fact that I sat and watched one of GW2's moderators desperately call for people to buy their Free to Play game after SWTOR boasted great numbers..... on GameBreakerTV.

I am sorry bro but GW2 will not be the Mecca you are looking for, and by the time it releases (maybe even a year from now) SWTOR will have all of its game breaking bugs fixed and many content patches and a few Nvidia and ATI drivers behind it.

The next competition for SWTOR will be Titan, but definitely not GW2.

Sorry but I am tired of GW2 fanatics trying to undermine a successful game. The truth hurts.

Actually WoW had around 4-4.5 million at the one-year mark iirc. And they lost about 1 million subs in an eight month period last year, so with that rate continuing they'll need about 5 years to drop below SWTOR at the 3.5 mark.
