personally i am not interested in joining a random PuG of strangers that wants to vote on if i should get an item or not.

the fact that i helped means i earned the right to an equal chance to win the fruits of my labors that I can and will use

therefore it is the ONLY way i would help a group of random PuG of strangers run group content

unless I was feeling generous and decided to help them out of the kindness of my heart, then i would join and pass on everything so they all could get what they wanted with no competition from me.

if other players want to use a vote loot system, i don't care - have fun using it and letting other players decide what you can or cant use after you put in equal effort.

Can you set the current system to just randomly distribute everything unless it is BoP?

I never disagreed with you on that point. My issue is that it's very inflexible system and people are superior to the machines because they can adopt do different situations and respond accordingly. With NBG I can roll equally OR do something else. That's why I see it as better. It will be such as people will make it to be.

People are different and you already know the point of all this.

-nods-

I am the same way, I'll really only consider subjugating my needs to others if I am with some people I know and trust or am with a group working for a specific goal, or say gearing someone to be able to proceed in a quest.

I think it would help if we changed the names. "Need" is too open for interpretation. Since I am not greedy, "Greed" is obviously never the right choice.

Nobody really "needs" anything. If you do truly need something (ie you forgot to put something in your chest slot), then you should have bought it at the GTN before you came, otherwise you are showing up underequipped -- and that isn't fair to the other players.

What about [Want to Use] [Want to Give Away/Sell] or [Can Use][Can't Use] or [Will Use][Won't Use]

EDIT: As I mentioned in another post, you could also add a [Companion Can Use] button which would roll with the [Can Use] rollers with a -50 penalty.

No thanks - if I help and can and will equip it, then I earned the right to have an equal chance to win it - which means if the ONLY reason I am joining a group is to equip my companion, then I no longer have an equal chance to win what I helped make drop that I can and will equip under that rule.

Equip who? I agree on "Sell" though. It's a good choice. Straightforward.

Unfortunately, while that seems obvious to some people, others think that it is obvious that Need = Equip in selected slots that are approved by me and I won't tell you which slots they are before we roll unless you ask me, while Greed= Sell or equip in unapproved slots EDIT: Even if you are using an approved slot, it might be an unapproved use of that slot.
