Except there is not as much story. Killing level 10s with a 50 does not make you good at pvp it makes you a ganker. Killing level 50s with a level 50+gear is the same as being a ganker

Nerfing PVP gear will just make it useless as everyone in Rakata/whatever will wipe the floor with PVPers that spend their hours PVPing instead of running hardmodes/ops. Stop this nonsense, really. Its not the gear where the problem is. You are fresh 50, just go get some gear in PVE before going into PVP if you have problem with BM/Champ geared people. Or PVP before 50 and have 5 bags right off the bat, with the changes planned in next update you will be geared up in no time anyway.

You are afraid of someone with better gear coming to kick your ***. Everthought that PvP and PvE gear shoud be equal then you'd no fear of ganking by PvErs
