Damage Meter, how to get if you want?

Damage meters are a tool to gauge your performance. When you use them the right way, you can compare different attack rotations to maximize your damage throughput. People who have bad experiences with damage meters are usually the players that don't understand what they're doing, get criticized, get shown their poor performance in real numbers, then get defensive instead of trying to improve themselves. There are always going to be the annoying people who spam meters and try to rub their epeens all over everybody else, but that's a small price to pay to have such an important tool for end-game content.

Its as much proof as Vanilla WoW had. And after all there was successful raiding in those days, you know those days when it required more than facerolling to play?

I'm very split here. While a damage meter is a great tool, it quite often leads to bad behavior (mainly in pugs).

BioWare should made Casual and Hardcore servers instead of PVP or PVE, and add some features for hardcore players like DPS meter, nice raid frames etc, and for Casual - rainbow ponies, and other fluffy stuff

With your guild leaders using video capture and other out of game parsing tools.

The issue was never the meters. The issue was putting them in everyone's hands and having them using them like five year old with a hammer yelling "Yeah I'm a carpenter! Your foot sure looks like a nail!"

It's always been "The right tool for the right job in the right hands."

Thats right because using addons really shows how "hardcore" people are.

Umm NO you want hardcore then go else where cuz Developers have said this is a CAUSAL game, so all you endgame focused WoW Elitists we'll only be dealing with you crybabies for about 2 months, you'll get bored and leave rest of us that just enjoy a causal game focused on Story alone.

You have to understand my perspective. I don't play a game to be the most uber or the most elite. I play a game to relax after work, so using damage meters to me, is far to much like work. It isn't relaxing. I like doing and learning my characters the old fashioned way, trial and error. Then again, I am also not a hard core raider, more a passive.. "if someone needs an extra body, I'll help where I can" type player.

I also am usually very good with my characters because I take a great deal of pride in learning them as well as I can, and I do it w/o using damage meters. Just by observation.

Now, I admit that while my build or gear may not be optimal for a raid, it is usually not sub-par unless I am geared for non-raid situations. And it is rare that whatever class I am playing, doesn't pull their weight when I do raid. Mostly because I actually DO know my characters and class very well.

But hat is just me.

Yes, and while you're at it implement achievements too so that nobody will let anybody join a group unless they can "link achy". I want as nasty a community as possible!
