No, they aren't. There are new craftable PvP sets released every arena season, and the old season's gear becomes easily available through honor points, which you can grind a full set in a week's casual playtime.

I'm just supposed to get crushed for a while until I slowly gear up over a couple hundred games?

Really?

I remember having the same problem with Rift. Got max level and entered the warzone. Couldn't tickle my enemies. Not sure if they ever changed anything, but I left not too long after.

They obviously aren't going to have anywhere near as much as Resilience (the Expertise equivalent stat) as other 85s do so aren't they going through the same process of getting destroyed BG after BG until they slowly get gear and gain resilience? I realize that with Arena being available in WoW, full PvP geared 85s may not do BGs as much as full PvP geared players in SWToR (since there's no rated WZ or Arena) but nonetheless, fresh 85s will, for the most part, be playing against PvP geared opponents.

Are WoW players complaining about this as well? I'm honestly curious.

And yes, I am aware of the differences of Resilience and Expertise and understand that Expertise is far more "potent" than Resilience due to the increase in damage and healing as well. I know that this makes the grind in SWToR even worse.
No, they can go do PvE and get gear that is extremely easy to get and good enough AND has resilience. Why do you mention a game that you have no idea of? I'm honestly curious.

I've never heard of any PvE gear in WoW that has resilience, unless you mean gear that is crafted by blacksmiths. I do agree with your point about discussing WoW without having played it, which is obvious from their lack of knowledge pertaining to the game.

I'm not knocking L50 PvP - it's important to play at a disadvantage against advanced competition, it makes you a better player. It's just easy to get discouraged and flame out.
That's easy to say until some geared up BH hits you for 5k damage 3x in 6 seconds. BW said early on that gear would not be the be-all end-all factor in this game. It is and it stinks.

Expertise is a useless stat. Ditch it IMO. Also, some stat caps would be wise so that people have to actually think about a build rather than just load up on win.

BH can only crit for 5K with Heatseeker Missile which is 15 sec cooldown.

Also, Expertise is not useless. If it gives you 10% more damage or more importantly, 10% damage mitigation, you'll be more effective in PvP.

Wouldn't even bother trying to reason, these are the sorts of wild exaggerations which get posted on this forum on a daily basis.

Anyone who got champ gear early is an exploiter

Everyone who is Battlemaster exploited Ilum

Expertise allows tanks to do 12k crits every time they hit smash

Stop running around like a headless chicken by yourself picking fights with the first battlemaster you see then cry when they win. They've been PvPing longer, they're much more experienced, you'd probably lose anyway regardless of gear.

You will all find in life that someone will have an advantage over you in pretty much whatever you do. Even from launch I was outgeared. I got stomped by 50's before I was 50 and I got stomped by champ gear before I got it, not once did I feel the need to come here and complain about it.

They played more, they levelled faster and they got more gear, that is why you are at a disadvantage.

BW has already said they plan to reduce the gap between PvP gear and no gear. Hopefully this is just adding a PvP lvl 50 set (one of which they've already removed for some reason) and give it some expertise. If they get the generic nerf bat out again its just going to be a joke.

Guess what.

At level 50 you no longer get a bolster. In practical terms at level 50, if you do not have at the very least full blue level 50 gear/oranges modded with level 50 blues you are WEAKER than you were at level 49 through perhaps level 20 in WZ's.

Level 50's with level 51+ gear will blow through as though you are squishier than a fresh level 10, because you ARE.

^ This.

Also if you plan ahead you can open at least 13 champion bags the day you hit 50. Unless the RNG hates you this will net a start on your champion gear under current / "old" system.
