Ridiculous.

I guess I didn't spend last night raiding hard modes.

Or the night before that.

Or the PVP at 50 I did all day the day before that.

Let's be clear here.

There is plenty to do at 50 and plenty of people to do it with.

Just because YOU don't enjoy the endgame does not mean there isn't one.

Myself and many others are finding plenty to do both while leveling and at cap. Sorry if it doesn't appeal to you but your statement is a mistruth.
Stop exploding you cowards!

This is an extremely well written, and reasonable post OP. Very good job, I agree with each comment you made really, all of your points broke down exactly the way I was thinking. 10/10, would read again.

If ever there was an opportunity to make it look as if one has no clue and no plan, this is it, and BioWare has jumped all over it.
For this reason alone, there should be a massive shakeup at BW. How do they implement Ilum as is, knowing that players hate it? Literally no one likes the way it is set up. How did that not factor into their thinking?

And another thing, any "Mythic" without Mark Jacobs isn't Mythic. Period. He was the person who's vision it was that allowed DAoC to become the standard in faction-based PvP. Any discussion about Mythic in its current state only tarnishes the memory of something that was once pretty great.

OP was TL;DR material but I could feel the gest.

I can only tell you my experience so far.

PC gamer since longer then I can remember btw (going back to C64 days when it comes to gaming)

This is one of the most amazingly designed MMO´s to date, especially when it comes to the artwork and storytelling. Haters gonna hate.

And please explain to me where the PVE game is? Dailies, for repair money. FP OPS grinds for columi that is no where near the end game PVP gear that can be aquired in 1 week of grinding. The end game is rerolling in this world. unfortuantely im not a big alt player. Sorry but other then playing alts the end game is rather buggy and shallower then the water in SWTOR. was a fun lvling process though.

he does have some truth . there is no more then 20 people on illum at any given time on my server. between 90 to 200 on the fleet and every other zone besides ilum will have 40 plus players. The population does not like that planet, the broken quests or the broken PVP contained.

Ruin the game ? The review is a symptom, not a cause.

Review actually seems quite positive in some ways, but it's clear the reviewer's main interest is in PvP endgame and he finds that area particularly wanting.

I think that's fair enough. OTOH, I don't think players like him are in a majority, and I would guess that BW had bigger fish to fry just to get the damn thing out.

If SWTOR had been touted massively as mainly a PvP game, then the review would be spot on: to fail at that level would be disastrous. But since the game's main target audience is PvE, and moreover people for whom this is their first MMO (just as Blizzard did with WoW), then such problems as the OP highlights aren't really going to become apparent for the mass of players till quite a few months down the line, by which time one hopes BW will have sorted them out.

A statement like this would normally be open to scepticism, but in view of how fast and how successfully they've tackled the ability delay problem (which I think was the real potential game-breaker), I am more confident than I might otherwise have been.

I don't think BW are counting on huge subs from the PvP community. Nice to have, but the immediate pressure is going to be on PvE endgame, then I think they will take a more serious look at PvP.

That seems to be the way BW are working, they work through the game serially iterating on one area at a time. I'm fairly confident that if the OP comes back in say 6 months, the PvP endgame will have a much better design.

So yeah, very well-written and accurate review, but from a rather idiosyncractic point of view in relation to the types of players who will likely form the majority of subscribers.
