Anyway this topic is everywhere now. General, Test Server Forums and PVP forums and Dev Trackers.

Research paper implies research ... that's all I'm going to say lol.

Anyway it's all good. I just believe in Self Sufficiency.

This would be like writing a research paper with no proof and having your professor do the research for everything you claim in the paper.

You talk about "handouts" but it's PVP gear that's being handed out to those that have no skill but lots of free TIME.

... or a multiplayer PVP game where you can't replace lack-of-skills by investing hours and hours into getting better gear to compensate.
PVP gear is almost all luck based, it has nothing to do with time.

I'm almost in full Champion/Centurion and all the pvp i've done so far is:
3 Daily Quests in Ilum
1 Weekly Quest in Ilum
6 Daily Quests in WZ
2 Weekly Quests in WZ's

Plus whatever bags I was able to purchase with the WZ commendations.

NP, lol.

But even when you do a research paper, you need to cite your sources!

(ps........... someone seriously flagged one of your posts?????)

Fail comparison. Are people in the olympics competing with the same gear? Training in the same level facilities? Having the same nutrition and coaching?

i think at the end of the day there has to be some appeal to keep people flowing into pvp at 50, otherwise regardless of gear you run into issues with people actually wanting to pvp. That being said i don't know that nerfing is the smartest choice, granted as it stands right now the ability for a new 50 to compete is diminished against those in more pvp gear then themselves, to an annoying point (and i say this as someone with a 50 in mostly bm and a "new" 50). You also have to consider a new 50's ability to not only compete against other players but have the ability to compete with other players (Team) to help them win.

All this being said why not simply reduce the cost on centurion gear? Why is centurion gear a consolation prize to not getting a champion piece from a bag instead of being the first tier of pvp gear? Right now its certainly better to have centurion gear then nothing for the expertise, but a lot of people refrain from purchasing it because of fear of buying something you might get in a bag shortly after.
Cost of centurion vs rate of acquisition of coins seems a little skewed, not that you should get a new piece everyday i just find the cost of the more expensive gear to be slightly high. A helm/chest/gloves (dont quote me on gloves) cost 39 tokens: you get 18 from your weeklies with no items from bags, which means 4 more days of dalies to get one item (not counting merc com trade ins). Even if you factor in merc com trade-ins, 1 bag =800 warzone coms (600 converted to 200 merc coms) assuming you win every game @ 80 coms a game, thats 10 games for 1 bag or 150 minutes of play time for 3 commendations.
If you look at it solely based on dalies/weeklies (and do it everyday) thats 20 bags/60 coms with no champ items, if you won every warzone for your daliy you'd have enough for 2 more bags (21 wins a week @80 warzones per game=1680 warzone commendations, 800 per bag), so you have 66. Thats 2 pieces of big armor or belt/bracers +2 trinkets, a week. Thats only considering if you win, and aren't competing against better geared individuals for those wins.

the only time I flag someone is if they make a personal attack against someone or are trolling.

you didn't do any of those though.

I'm all for a gear nerf. I did amazing in PvP from 10-49, and I PvPed A LOT, usually topping the charts (for the most part.) But, I reach 50 yesterday, join a WZ and whattaya know...I get my *** handed to me like its day one. I'm specced as a healer, so I know I'm not all that great damage wise, but I could at least hold off against someone in the 10-49 bracket. I get into a 50 WZ and get smashed in a matter of seconds by someone who is fully geared. I can't even heal myself through damage anymore, let alone hope to kill them if they come after me. Literally, I got in 50 WZs, played 2 matches, felt utterly useless and frankly I'm ready to quit PvP and just go to raiding. Put me back to level 49 please, when no one had over 9000 expertise and teams were fairly balanced.

Oh good.

I have plenty more to go through before I have to start worrying about treading on people's toes.

(So the only way you get warned is if someone flags your post?)
