This game suites my style of MMO game play, over the years as I have gotten older, I am less and less interersted in Hardcore play. I have been playing since day one and I leveling various characters slowly through the story lines. Enjoying the game for what it is a game.

Did this game offer up new stuff, no it is similar to every other MMO out there, we traded in Guns and Bows for blasters and rifles we traded mana for the force. We still go and kill x things, pick up y item deliver it to z.

This game will mature and I suspect will continue to have a fan base much like D&D has, LOTRO, AOC, etc... because people want to play with orcs, or jedi, or barbarians.

Is SWTOR perfect, far from it, but for my time spent, its a good game and rates 8/10.

I give it a 7, so those ratings mean nothing to me.
Meanwhile, in Tera general chat -

Judging by the responses this thread has it seems the community is full of people with too little attention span to read a post beyond 10 words. If this is a true reflection of the community none of the issues you have raised will be an issue, as the community doesn't have the attention span to realise them!

That aside your post is 100% on the money. You put across good points backed up with good knowledge of the game developers and their history and backgrounds in the industry. It is a shame your points won't be listed too due to the mass flaming you will get from fanboys, children and those who don't have the attention span to read your OP.

This is actually a pretty good review IMO, irrespective of whether I agree or not. Well written, constructive and strikes a good balance between subjective and objective (Well, reviews are generally subjective but OP has clearly put effort in this)

Good read OP

The UI is mostly MMO standard, though it conspicuously lacks any form of combat log. This, I can only imagine, stems from a desire to take a hardline stance on the controversial issue of DamageMeters and other quantitative-reductionist phenomena that are a mainstay of the WoW community to this day. Given BioWare’s stated goal of maximizing the immersive feel of its world, I can see this as a consistent position to take.
imo this is not true. I believe its biowares lack of ability to handle perfomance issues in the game. There are many tell tale signs. One is removal of a combat log. Others include queue for thier website during high traffic, instancing in zones, illum troubles when too many in same area, aution house UI only allows for very presise queries instead of open ended queries I could go on and on. and the fact that they said they will add combat logs but only for the individual says the same thing to me. we cant handle the load of logging everything around you so we'll give you a highly stripped down lightweight version of it.

thats a brilliant fair approach OP. I think a lot of people will choose to not agree with you just because you've been negative towards pvp but they're just being a bit fanboyish. The game is good its enjoyable it needs a bit of work just like you've highlighted.

Its a good basis to build on, but the end game open world pvp is bare bones at present. Then again Warhammer online a pvp orientated title launched with content that didn't really live up to expectation and took around a year to deliver that correctly. The three warzones are pretty good though.

Probably because it really is a 8/10 game. Would be 9/10 if not for the performance issues and some bugs.
You are not your rig specs. You are not your K/D ratio. You are not your character level. You are not your sig.

I agree with this review 100%.

Before I earned my 620 expertise and a full set of Rakata gear from Operations, I might have disagreed with a few points here. That's probably a big clue as to why some people here disagree. Give them some time to experience what other people have experienced and they'll change their tune, just like everybody else. The Fanboi Bug can only survive so much.
