LOL hard work, before the 50 bracket was put in place, those players that reached 50 in a week after early access or launch day got the advantage and most likely farmed Ilum for those 2 days it was broken. NOW it is harder for new 50's, and the incredibly unreal lag in Ilum (which needs a serious fix).

Hell I know on some servers it's hard to even level from 24-30 because of the opposite faction level 50's camping quest areas on Tat and Alderaan on pvp servers, part of why I only do class and planet stories and pvp the rest of the time on my alts now.
Now that GoergZoeller is gone, buff operative.

If they nerf the stat all together, then they need to mirror pvp gear with pve gear, period.

If this doesn't happen, pvp gear will be worthless and folks will be rolling around in rakata in wz's.

Then, the people that don't have the means to get rakata, will scream "NERF" and the cycle will repeat itself.

Y'all need to wake up. Nerfing pvp gear means nothing.. there will always be people with better gear than you have, and the same people will always cry about how unfair it is when they get rolled in pug wz's 20 times in a row.

Oh.. and one more thing.... It always boggles my mind when I hear people that used to play games like swg (which i did) crying about how gear shouldn't matter because it didn't matter when they played galaxies pre-cu. ARE YOU KIDDING ME, GEAR DIDN'T MATTER REALLY!?!?!?!!?

How about a stun baton that would drain all of your mind in 2 hits.

Yeah, gear didn't matter.

People on these forums are so fail.
I just got FF'd by 10 lvl 10's

PvP gear = good in PvE, best in PvP
PvE gear = best in PvE, good in PvP

Completely agreed

Well damn... I thought I was doing it right.
Grind PvP gear to quest in and do PvP (PvP world) and PvE gear to do Ops/FP runs.

Open world PvP while leveling showed me that as a healer I suffered a penalty to my healing capacity just because someone decided to gank me while I was leveling. So needles to say (for the most part) I was a free kill since my damage was gutted for being a healer on top of a 30% healing reduction.

So I decided that I would grind it out, make it to level 50, get some PvP gear to wear during questing/WZ/Ilum/dailies, just to even it out a bit. Now I'm in mostly Champion gear (valor41) with a few Columi/Rataka pieces in place of the non-Champion ones. And now it's being speculated that the gear I did the grind for is going to mean less than it does now? Just so a fresh 50 can steamroll me as I cast a 2.3 second heal for 4k health and do 1k in damage from some of my abilities? Yep, seems fair.

At least when it was a BM or a similarly geared opponent as myself, I knew that I wasn't going to survive long... stun n run was the motto. Now I'm going to have to run from players that just dinged to 50 too. And not because they know their class, but because as a healer I lack in the damage department, and suffer an additional penalty just because of my spec.

Can I has dual spec now please?

OMG Girls! What a massive QQ! Hug your ponies and run away on the unicorn.

"I got only 9 items in 10 bags and they still want to nerf this??"

"I just hit 50 and I can't take down 10 BM players, nerf expertise"

"I've been playing for almost a week and I am still not in full BM; bags should have bazillion BM tokens inside!"

That is just insane that now you should actually have to spend some time to gear up!

I think I could understand how the OP feels. I've just hit 50 and I pvp a bunch. The amount of time invested in getting a full set of Champion of Battlemaster PVP gear is substantial and having that gear "adjusted" would be frustrating. There are a couple factors to keep in mind.

If you were one of the players that focused on PVP from release you had an easier time getting that gear considering the 50th lvl PVP population was lower. Less ppl farming the daily/weekly, more gear sooner gave you a bigger PVP advantage making the Daily/Weekly easier. This in turn geared those players up faster.

Then think of the players that hit 50 just behind this first group. They got POUNDED on while they were gearing up, struggling to win PVP matches for daily/weekly against geared 50s which is very difficult. They worked their way up the ranks and now the gear's being dialed back.

I know that since I've been grinding for PVP gear I've thought a lot about how fun it will be to stomp the newer 50s once I'm geared up.

This being said do I think that the advantage that is given by this gear is too high? Yes and no.

I think the reason that we should spend our time getting this gear is because it's such an advantage. It takes a long time to get and that's the reward. You have to be committed to gearing up and if you spend all that time you should be rewarded. I plan on spending the time to gear up and I expect that advantage to be great. It's no small thing to have a full set of even Centurion.

So I think the gear advantage could be dialed back slightly to allow some more casual players to not feel so discouraged as to stop playing PVP. It's a good thing guys. More "casual O.o" players will be encouraged to PVP.

True PvP is about skill and tactics in a fair fight.

PvP in an MMO is about putting in enough time and deaths to grind gear that makes you unbeatable for new players.

Imagine how they gave everyone handguns in an FPS and when you have played 100 hours you get armor and a machine gun. Very fun...

It would not be difficult to give PvP rewards that dont impact the balance a lot. It has been done in many FPS games. Everyone has the exact same PvP gear now anyway.
