I loved pvp so far, even more after they kicked out lvl 50 ... I mean they made a seperate bracets for. I hit lvl 50 today and the word was I won't be able to PVP at all due to differences (and I have 35 valor so I did some PVP so far )

All in all this news made me so happy!

I still assume I will get my *** kicked like lvl 10 - 14 get at the moment in under 50 due to lack of super skils and expirience but I am really happy I won't just go to PVP to cry after every match (yes I cry I am a girl and getting my *** kicked with no chance of defence would make me cry).

Thanks for the good news! (even though this was soo not your intention

Really? Where's your research on this? HMMMM? Quit making up crap.

but nerfing expertice is breaking pvp and will make pvp MORE GEAR DEPENDED as it is now!
Yes, because nerfing expertise in any regard will immediately make PvE gear better, no matter how small. *siiigh* oh no, the sky is falling, the sky is falling, help me, save me...
Standards are made to be broken.

A nerf to expertise wouldn't make PvE gear more viable, and there is going to be new sets of PvP gear as new sets of PvE gear come along with content patches that give more stats.

PvP gear will still be better than PvE gear because the benefits it gives in PvP with expertise should still be made to outweigh the benefits that come from PvE sets and their bonuses.

I don't really understand your argument.

I think that the OP just made my brain explode.

RNG bags and the PvP Gear advantage have been the single most complained about Items on these forums. These were not just QQ Whines, but legitimate issues. In one fell swoop, BioWare just all but eliminated the RNG issue, eliminated the duplicate problem, replacing luck with rewarding time invested, while allowing new 50s a real path towards gearing up and not getting rolled by 50s, yet still providing enough of an expertise edge to justify grinding for BM gear. These are all GREAT CHANGES.

Plus there’s not one iota of credible evidence that BW intends to nerf PvP gear, it appears they are just making it easier to obtain the Tier 1 set. This change also makes stealth removing the level 50 make a bit more sense since the Tier 1 set makes it essentially irrelevant.

Bravo BioWare, you did well.

Close to having full set of champ gear, I couldn't care less if they removed the expertise from it. I don't like the "I grinded for this gear so now I can beat you even if I s***" idea. It's player vs player not player vs gear.

Bring back blue pvp gear with low-medium expertise instead of pvp gear nerf

What stuns me about this isn't the changes at all.

What stuns me is that they put in the existing system at all.

PvP Exp exploits leading people to hit 50 too early. BAD

Expertise system creating immediate disparities in PvP combat. BAD

RNG system creating completely disproportionate gear disparities where luck > skill. BAD

Open World PvP on ONE PLANET with worthless base assaults and armament captures. BAD

Requiring war zone wins to advance battle master gear as opposed to medals or a ranking system that allowed you to purchase gear. BAD (because it encourages war zone abandonment).

Bioware had Years to develop something in PvP. They also have/had onboard designers in pvp from other good and bad pvp moms. THe only thing I can imagine is that the good ideas were abandoned in favor of more expedient solutions with the thought that "we'll just fix it later."

But see, later comes too late for the hardcore. Perhaps they think the hardcore will come back if things radically change. Look at WoW. It took Wow to add arena to bring the hardcore PvPers back to WoW and yet it was a disaster for the game and began its decline due to all the changes that arena required to skills etc in order to make all the classes competitive. Heck, the Hunter class only got its null zone eliminated because of arena).

I dont pretend or profess to know anything about game design. But I am an avid PvPer and I have played many of them. And this system is terrible in comparison even to the basic ranking system WoW had when titles meant access to higher levels of gear.

I don't really understand your argument.

The problem here is that currently Rakata gear in some of your slots already serves as the best way to PvP. Nerfing expertise makes PvP gear even less appealing, inviting MORE Rakata (PvE) gear into the PvP realm.

WoW ran into this problem initially too. The gearsets have to be tuned side by side lest one be so good as to be the best choice for both environments.

If I'm being honest, I'd love to see PvP where all gear is inconsequential. Everyone gets a bolster buff that normalizes stats across the board for all classes, and then let's see who knows their stuff. Maybe have small rewards (like a CC buster trinket a la WoW. Would be even more welcome here given that CC abounds in this game) or vanity rewards, but PvPing so you can be on a gear treadmill just so you can crush people on the bottom end of the treadmill seems decidedly not fun.

Better fix would be to add easier to obtain but less effective pvp gear.

e.g. with stats less than champ/centur....but a significant reduction in cost/time to obtain.

At the same time raise the cost of BM.
