I read another thread not long ago and I could have sworn a bunch of players were saying that once you maxed out one alignment the other was automatically zeroed out. That implies that you can still max out one alignment even though you had points in the other. Is this no longer true?

Only the meek get pinched. The bold survive.

That's impossible. You don't get light or dark side points for another player's choices, only your own. If you keep on saying that you do you will only deepen the hole that is your ignorance.

And some of us are color oriented people, meatbag. We prefer to color our text so it's easier to read.

This is awesome, I love it when stupid people come out hard throwing the insults around but totally shoot themselves in the foot.

As the previous guy said, you DON'T get the other persons dark/light points in a group you get whatever you chose.

Whats the bet this particular goof ball never returns to the thread?

Anyway back on topic. I really would prefer to be able to RP the character to a certain extent. I find however that I just put the show alignment thing on and choose whatever one Im going for. This leads in turn to me not really caring what the guys are saying and spamming space to get to the choice. If I cant choose what I want them whats the point of listening?

I guess I could go on faith that they will put in the neutral gear as stated but it still feels wrong to me.

You, Sir, are a fat TROLL. Who did not notice hitting light answer.
I have been in many many groups when ppl hit dark while I hit light and lose a roll. While the action taken will be a dark one, MY allignment will be +xxx light points as per my decision. Pls study the game mechanics before insulting others.

Bright yellow text is in no way easier to read douche, it's loud and obnoxious. Remove yourself from a conversation that doesn't involve you.

He did come back! I would have thought after humiliating himself with his last post he would have deleted his forum account and tried to pretend it never happened. Instead, here he is back again digging himself deeper.

I think my favorite part might be "it's loud and obnoxious" hahaha

You really should have taken Kirk Lazarus' advice "Never go full retard"

There are many Jedi that are grey, even from the movies. Mace Windu is an excellent example, his Vaapad was form VII and very similar to the Sith Juyo thriving on passion. Just because someone is a jedi or a sith does not make him light or dark.

One could take the old D&D alignment system in consideration when speaking of light and dark in the star wars world. My sith warrior is light IV, not because he is good, but because he is evil, but often uses good means to achieve his goals. In the D&D world we would call this Chaotic Evil. I can see BW using this alignment system to give people with a Lawful alignment a reward for being so.

I wish to see them remain with the 10000 cap, and applaud them for making people be lawful to get the lawful rewards. There is no reason you can lose points 'by accident'. The only argument is diplomacy, but again, it's your choice to make.

I had been testing this on Sunday (patch 1.1.4), with a 9900 light side and 700 dark side character.
Doing black talon got me 200 lightside points. I ended up with 10000 lightside and 600 dark side. Am now maxed out at 10000-0 after re-doing it a few more times.

So I can verify that making darkside choices once in a while does not prevent you from getting light side v. But I can't verify if getting 10000 lightside will or used to automatically erase your darkside points.

If it doesn't work for you, you may like to ticket this cos I saw one other thread where the person got his problem fixed by cust support.

Yep the light/dark system is totally flawed. This is how I would have liked it to work:

-5000 to -6999 = Dark III
-3000 to -4999 = Dark II
-1000 to -2999 = Dark I
-999 to 999 = Neutral
1000 to 2999 = Light I
3000 to 4999 = Light II
5000 to 6999 = Light III

No need for 5 levels, 3 could work - they could even have names instead of just "Light II" it could be something like "Angelic" etc.

Each of the levels should be no better than each other, they are simply different. Different gear available for each level, again not superior to each other, just different. The idea would be, you would need to maintain that level to wear the gear. If you have a bunch of Dark I gear for instance, you would aim to hover around -2000 that way you would need to almost alternate options to stay there... or if you did choose 2-3 of the same side in a row, you'd still be ok, there is a bit of a buffer.

This could also mean that Neutral could have gear for it.

Umm...pick your choices how you want and dont worry about Dark/Light restrictions. If you are worried about min/maxing your character as well as full RP you need not worry since there are no Dark/Light restrictions on the high end stuff.
