Well done Patch 1.2, lots of additions that i was looking for.

At those events, we always want to answer any questions, regardless of whether or not they've been answered before. Your audience at a gaming convention tends to be much more "all-around gamer" and less "hardcore SW:TOR fan", and therefore we cater our plans towards that.

In this case, we're specifically inviting guild leaders who are actively playing the game. While we're inviting guilds from all walks of life, the application process is there because we want to be able to raise the level of discourse we hold with the leaders, and so we can have serious, in-depth discussions about the state of the game. This event isn't just a Q&A like we've done previously, this is a two-way conversation between the people making the game and the people playing the game, and I think that makes a huge difference with this event vs. conventions we've visited in the past.

The last 2 quotes are what I'm more thinking of. I completely understand about the public conventions / QA sessions - I have been in the software development industry. But why limit it to just Guilds? As was previously mentioned, many don't want to join a Guild for various reasons - for instance becasue I only play with family and friends. Can they not still get together, just as a guild does, and run Operations, FP's, and Heroics? They are less important because there is no "Guild" label under their name?

You can't have a serious in-depth conversation with PlayerQ because he isn't in a guild, thus below your level of how well I know / play the game? Are not people who post on the forums limited to those who have active subscriptions? The person who puts together nightly PUG's for FP's, Heroics, and Operations to help teach people because they can't join a guild becasue they don't have "x equipment" or "x skill tree configuration" or "You have to have already done it before." His opinion is no more important cause PlayerQ is not in a guild?

If there is a "specific" reason why Guilds only, then say it. I am one to defend BW, but this just puts a big stinch in the air.

Here's a thought...why not have a quick chat with your guild leader (I'm figuring he won't be applying) and agree to temporarily adopt leadership of the guild for the duration of the conference, then couch your application as if you're the guild leader because, on the day of the conference, you will be.

I mean, if you happen to resign at the end of that conference and the old leader takes over and because it was for such a short space of time no-one ever actually got round to transferring ownership of the guild over to you...well, these things happen, don't they.

I completely agree. That's why *guilds* are so important to the community. You're not anonymous in a good guild - your guildies and GL should know you, and have semi-regular contact with you. If you're being ugly to someone in game, and you have a guild tag over your head, word will get back to your guild. Folks generally don't want to embarrass their friends and guildies, so they are more likely to be nice.

Well as I said, I'm interested in attending this event; I am a guild leader. But I'm also a college student.

I'm not going to pay for airfare, food and lodging just to sit in meetings all day and help improve a service I'm already paying for. No thanks.

I suspect the vast majority of guilds will be from the local area due to the money issue alone.

This is a good idea. I'd tell the nay sayers to AT LEAST give it a chance before you crap all over it. If any good comes out of it, then it's worth it. There are plenty of people that would jump at the chance to go to this to not only get to talk directly to the devs, but to get some inside info on what is coming up.

I don't know why some people think they can't fix bugs and have this summit at the same time. They seem to think that all development and fixes are put on hold until march. How does that even make any sense?
