Again why would having to go through "spaceport/elevator-airlock/path thru hangar/path thru ship to cockpit/path thru ship from cockpit/path thru hangar/elevator-airlock/path thru spaceport" be better than being able to speeder point straight to your ship?

What does not having that gain the player or the game?
Real Star Wars space combat please, not Star Wars Fox! Maybe some PvP and flight too?

just unsub like i did and i still got a whole month of playtime but i already uninstalled swtor.

The game is terrible.

The casual noob fanboys are even worse. Its like saying you like to eat sh it and how you are loving it.

enjoy the sh it

i'm now playing Guild Wars 1 for the HOM rewards for GW2 and its actually more fun than swtor.

This is supposed to be a fun game... not a drive from Los Angeles to San Francisco.
I would like to drive from LA to SF sometime, preferably in a convertible Mustang (even if it's not up to date technicaly, with leaf spring suspenssion and all that).

Anyway, I hate traveling in swtor, not just the orbital spacestations and terminals and hangars with loading inbetween, but the whole quest flow and running.
I'm on my second character story now (in the lack of anything I find engaging for my 50 assassin), this time my wife joined in to play with me, with her first char and at level 20 she's off the wall angry at the running.

So yeah, less traveling and traveling time please.

The truth flows freely from you. While I dont mind the travel I can see it getting aggrivating.

Just make planet jumping at a space terminal optional. That way the nerds who want "total immersion" can still have it because they like wasting their time and those of us who don't want our time wasted and easily and more efficiently travel, travel.

This is the same gripe with vo. Just make it optional to have it or not. Personally after you've leveled more than 1 toon to 50, the stuff is just repetitive and I don't wanna hear it again.

Going back to travel - people with computers older than 1 year like mine can appreciate this:

I am on Ilum and I need to go to the Fleet to get the daily for pvp or the daily for flashpoints. I enter the Ilum transport, I am now in the orbital station and walk across the station to an airlock, I walk into and cross the airlock, I enter my ship. I choose the Fleet. I click on the door and exit into the Fleet (wthbbqomgIamherewithoutabunchofotherdoors?).

Drive around the Fleet station and pick the required dailies and then repeat the process above.

Total time from leaving Ilum going to Fleet and going back to Ilum? 12-14mins. (this is of course if my emergency fleet pass is down)

Now, if I want to head to Belsavis after my dailies on Ilum are done it's another 7-8mins trip from Ilum to Belsavis and then once those are doing I want to head to the Fleet to do flashpoints. Another 7-8mins.

So in just moving around I've wasted 30+mins of my time. But, but, but.. it's an MMO and you're supposed to waste time. Well not all of us are 15 years old and have lots of time to waste. While your time may be of little value to you there are those of us that our time matters and we don't want it wasted doing tedious things that bring nothing more than annoyance to our game experience.

Optional mechanics in the game do not hurt the game and allow players more control how they spend their personal time. Don't like it? Don't use it. Same thing with LFG/LFD. For some it's a great way to get things done. For others it's a hateful horrible way for them to experience the game. Again, stuff can be optional and you'll get to experience the game in a way that's good for you while not having an impact on others.

I also wonder why the traveling is so time consuming and complex. Same effect could be resolved by adding just delay to travel like it was in WoW.

There mages could also teleport to each big cities. Didn't kill the game.

I am avoiding traveling to planets because

1) the hopping mentioned
2) it can take ages to load content on some planets(have slow HD)
3) getting out of planet is as hard as getting into it
4) Garrick station(play republic) seems much better place to hang out because population, services and LFG messages for PVE/PVP

Not sure where most population is but I'd be shocked if not many share at least some of my views.

I wonder if we gave the OP a panda, would it become better for him?

I agree with the OP, i see no reason for us having to go through so many loading screens. The hangar bit is just annoying. Nothing there, just exist this door, run 30 seconds, go through the next door.

Streamlining travel seems like it would remove the whole concept of how people travel from planet to planet. Every step you take seems to be the logical one a character in this universe would take. Although I don't understand the orbital stations on certain planets either, maybe a design choice still needing a fix?
