I'd be amused if a BioWare rep came in here and posted that all of us arguing over this were actually on the same server and faction.

Because otherwise threats like this are meaningless.

I'm about 75% percent sure that three of you are the exact same person - if that helps. ;p

With all the group leaders here it amazes me there are actually any players left to join the groups

Well, you can only make one forum account per game registration, as far as I'm aware, as you can't post on the forums without an active account.

I know I haven't spent $180 on this game, only $60, meaning I only have one account.

So if someone's multiple people, they're dedicated enough to have spent nearly $200 just so they can drum up a false appearance of support here.

It's not a threat.
It's not really meaningless either.
I'm just stating the obvious. Telling how I do things.

I may not be on same server as him, but there are very likely people who think similar way as I do in his server and there are people who think in a similar way as he does in my server.

I wasn't offended. Truth is, if you joined my group and tried to impose your will, I'd kick you too.

And guess what? No one will know when they roll need on something, whether they 'really' needed it or not. Just because you are a trooper doesn't necessarily mean you 'need' the armor that dropped, I'm taking you at your word that you do. So please extend the courtesy to everyone else and respect that they do need the drop that they are rolling on. Or, if it is this much of a bee in your knickers tell people up front before your start the run how you would like loot to be rolled on, a little communication goes a long way you know.
I'll tell you what, then. Why don't you call me some time when you have no class?

So far the only MMOs I haven't directly played have been Lord of the Rings Online, Matrix Online, Star Trek Online and Aion.

In all of those, we didn't have companions who could wear the same gear as players, or gear that was primarily for aesthetic purposes and could have mods slotted in to keep it relevant in a given tier of content. As a result, it makes sense, since we have a new paradigm here, to come up with new rules, yes? Rules that take into account the additional needs on gear that drops? More accurately, the reality that each given piece of gear has a lot more use for a player than if the gear could only go on the character itself.

Yet, we have folks here advocating a system that is more properly contained in the other big MMO on the market right now, where you don't have equippable companions or moddable aesthetic gear. They're advocating an approach that on the surface seems to be for the group's ultimate benefit, but in reality is an attempt to skew things so that they have less chance of being opposed on a roll for something they want.

Care to keep trying? You aren't succeeding so far near as I can tell.
Oh please. You guys aren't arguing purely for companions, it's just the easiest reason to defend (albiet not right IMO). You are arguing valid need for cosmetic, mods, credits, etc, which exist in PLENTY of other MMOs. THAT notion of NBG is not new, so quit pretending that there is some "amazing new paradigm!" here. Even companions are just pets.

Like I've said a dozen times: If YOU want to roll need on that JK chestpiece for your companion, or because you think it looks cool, or you want the mods for your other companion, etc, when there is another JK in the group that actually needs it as a primary upgrade, you go right ahead. It's your rep, and your karma.

Seriously, play how you want.
