However you can see trends, and the trend is the total number of purchasers is down from launch, but I don't think I needed this data to figure that out :P
Sales increase then decline as a right of passage within the first 90 days, otherwise they would reach $15M by Thanksgiving. $15M in sales for one MMO is WoW material and I think WoW was just in the right place at the right time to achieve what it did ... something that probably won't ever happen again.

imho subs will hover around 1M until end game is clearly and cleanly implmented - I'm feeling between Memorial Day and July 4th. Once word gets out I don't see why there wouldn't be 3M to 4M subs by Christmas.
Can we please just have our pre-KotFE SWTOR MMORPG back?

Thanks for posting the numbers. If we go with 2M sales so far in the first month that makes it a very successful PC game by any standard, of course time will tell if the subscriptions will stay, but even at 50% retention that makes 1M subscribers which is excellent. Of course no one knows how high the targets were at EA, but hopefully they find numbers so far positive.
The generation of random numbers is too important to be left up to chance.

would have been a better post if you didn't have any replys in this thread after your original post

How did they get the information from Origins? Origins is the only digital distributor for this game and there is no way they could have legally gotten their sales numbers ..its common sense dude .

The numbers are ESTIMATES. They are not actuals. The only hard number out there is the NPD number for Dec and that does not include digital.

Blizzard used to say only 10% of wow players ever made it past level 10.

I'm sure more than 10% of swtor made it past level 10, therefore = success!!!!

/facepalm

But they can't estimate on a arbitrary number with nothing to base it on...honestly if VGChartz is syaing this is digital sales too...they have just blown any credibility they might have had in the future...because that estimated digital number is just being pulled out of the air

But if it is just box sales looks like the 3 + million sub number the guys over at TORwars were talking about is correct...because digital sales would have to be at the very least one million.

what they said is that "new" people did quit at low level that is why they made change to leveling.Your quote is way off.
