No, they are not and no, it isn't.

We had (scheduled) maintenance last Tuesday. We had unscheduled maintenance last Saturday to deploy a hotfix to a current issue.

Bioware is working hard to stay on top of game performance issues. That is a good thing.

You are not being ripped off. If you read the "terms of service", Bioware is not obligated to keep the game up at all hours. You subscribe for the game "as is", and Bioware can discontinue service at any time without breach of contract.

Grow up.

wow had same problems at launch and anyone remember TBC release the world servers would crash every 20 minutes the only way to avoid it was to be in a dungeon. the first 5 days i never left an instance because the world servers would crash more than I do driving.

Most people who repeat the "memory leak" buzzword don't even know what one is or how it works.

EA is also doing maintenece for other games on top of what tor is doing. So some games like bf won't be playable. Only offline games will work.

This is from EA twitter feed

My only time to play is midnight pactime and the servers are down 1/3 days guaranteed.

So i'm getting ripped off!

Bioware this game should never have been released this early. Its trash.
I cant even put into words how badly im LOLing at this ridiculously untrue statement.

It is not the downtime that is scary, it is the fact they cannot do hotfixes at all. There is no indication that they will be able to do proper hotfixes in the future either. So while other games have less and less downtime, outside of major patches, as the time goes on, SWTOR will have random server downtimes for the foreseeable future.

LOL so i'm trying not to laugh.

Basic addition and subtraction really? It took them 3 weeks to sort of solve item counting in your bags.

You can't sort? Lmao

You can't invite guild members via the guild roster to group? lmao
Oh wait or whisper them by clicking something right click or what ever...hmmm I can't imagine ever wanting to do this. Prob time to get a second intern on the horn.

The mouse lock up? How do you miss that? And it still does not work.

Client / Server versions and the option to play on the US server as a EU player (and vice versa).
If a client is on 1.0 it will not run on a 1.1 server.
If a client is on 1.1 it will not run on a 1.0 server.

If you have different downtimes you have 1.0 & 1.1 servers & clients "in the wild".

Sure there are some methods to fix this problem (disable autopatcher, check the last region you logged in, ask the player to verify that he does want to patch his client, etc...) and iirc they mentioned they wanted to introduce a solution to the problem with maintenance times.
But as always this takes time and it's probably not high priority.

It would be great if they could fix problems as soon as they find them.

They find a problem -> servers down -> fix problem -> servers up.

That's what I call a good service. Dedication.

Well, there you go. Thanks, Zocat.
