8 hour downtime, and maintenance is usually during a normal EU day. glad you live in the US, some don't.

split it between US/EU, move it in the night/early morning of EU - voila, a lot less complains.
Which 8 hours, specifically, do you think would be a good idea? Not being snarky, I'm honestly curious what you have in mind.

Then why is my game performance still pitiful a month after launch with no news of any incoming fixes?

move the EU maintenance a few hours into the night. people complain since release about maintenance times for EU.

split the maintenance for US and EU, done. Like I said, planning ahead usually reduces the whining by a large margin

That's where they get stuck, since there isn't a better time.

As it is now, the maintenance happens during NO ONE'S prime time (except Oceania... but it's not officially released there, so there's no support). If they change it forward or backward at all, it will overlap a Prime time.

never played an MMO before have you?

I'm sure you'll respond that you have but your posts would indicate otherwise, as would the OP's as would most other people in this thread who seem to think downtime for patching a month old MMO is just ridiculous.

Whats funny about this thread is the OP complains about an 8 hour downtime then complains about memory leaks in the same title.

How does OP think a memory leak will ever get fixed?

My guild is loosing players like flies. They are all going back to their old MMOs

You had better get a handle on this fast.

This is completely unacceptable.
I doubt its because of server resets.

The game is a month old. Jesus H. Christ.

Bi-Weekly sever maintenance is just terrible and they should fix that, right now.

Totally agree...

I see what you're saying. I've never heard of an MMO doing that, though, which makes me wonder if there's some sort of logistical issue to split maintenance times that someone not familiar with the internal processes involved wouldn't realize.

The MMO community seems to be the only community where less than 99% uptime is acceptable. You pay for 100%, you get roughly 95.5%. Everyone raves about SWTORs "innovation" when all they did is copy/paste the process of the biggest MMO in history while spending 500mill on voice acting that gets spacebar'd.

I think in gaming media "innovation" has become a new colloquialism for "paid review". If you see the word in any game review to describe any mechanic or feature you can rest assured there was a few kickers preceding it.
