no one is saying it is. Simply saying that's one game that had viable horizontal game play.

No you are right it isn't. Maybe if it was I wouldn't feel burned out with nothing to do but repeat dailys already. Maybe then my ship could be customizeable. Maybe my gear could look unlike every other person in my wz. Maybe my ship wouldn't be on rails.

SWG was a sandbox game, SWTOR is a themepark game. Two different types of games. Neither is better than the other.

I still don't understand why you think old MMO's had no grind.

I've been playing these games since the mid '90's and I can honestly say, "No, I don't remember a time when there was no power leveling, no grind, no gear tier, and no content end or reaching reward limits."

There was, and always has been, those things.

If anything all those things were far, far worst "back in the day".

Exactly. I'd say about 50% of the complaints on this forum are:

OMG it should work like I'm used to in <insert MMO of choice, typically WoW>.

People spend so much time in MMOs that they start to expect a consistent world view *between* games. Which makes it hard for any MMO to actually innovate else be seen as deviant or lacking in features.

I would have to think the only reason people would think differently would be nostalgia.

I came from an open-world sandbox game to this one because I was tired of the endless grind requiring the purchase of ever-more expensive weapons in the sandbox game.

Happy to be here.
