No, You May Not Roll on Items for Another Class and Strip Out the Mods

I'm not rolling for gear for my companion, I'm rolling for gear that will improve me. The fact that I don't equip it directly to my character isn't IMO important, because it will still improve my characters performance for the majority of my gameplay, upto the point that I out level and find better gear.

It is not at all the same thing as rolling on gear for an alt, because I'm still rolling on gear that will improve that character, in that spec.

I think you're angling towards a martyr argument here, which doesn't hold much water. I'm not out to screw other players, and I want to "play nice" with them. But that doesn't mean I'm going to pass up on something I want just because someone else wants it, or even "wants it more". If they want it more than I do, that's only objectively verifiable in them choosing Need when I choose Greed. If we both choose Need, we both want it to the same degree as far as the game is concerned.

This is why it needs to remain simple: if you want it, you choose the highest priority roll to acquire it, so your chances are equal to the greatest chances of getting it (i.e., equal to others who also choose the highest priority roll). If you only "sort of" want it, or your own moral compass indicates that you shouldn't roll Need if you're going to just sell it, then choose Greed. The idea is you choose what you want to choose, not what someone else's priority system tries to get you to choose.

There's a very very good chance I have been playing online games since before you were born. That's no great shakes. But, I can assure you, your threat of impending doom upon my character is just laughable. That I might make it onto your ignore list fills me with so much dread as to cause me to go into convulsions, of laughter.

You're certainly playing in a universe far far away, only problem is yours is inhabited by only one person.

But I would disagree that it takes precidence over another member of the group.

The look you like will still be available ..the stats one needs at that time may only be availabe at that time.
