How are they supposed to provide anything challenging when players think they should be in competition WITH THEIR OWN TEAMMATES?

You guys are the very reason these games can't be even moderately challenging.
Please explain in detail how players competing between themselves leads to content not being challenging. I just don't see the connection. Actually on the contrary a little competition usually motivates everyone to get better.

Keep in mind that a good player dodges all the fires and does all the other gimmicks that the encounter requires and STILL does top damage.

Lvl 45 jug, parked at hoth, i think im done. Why. So far EVERYTHING has been way too easy, loot rains from heaven. If i wanted HAnd holding and entitlement , id go back to that other game i left nearly a year ago FOR EXACTLY THE SAME REASON....

Its sad, people like myself and the op that crave a challenge have no where to go...

Dont even tell me heroic operations btw, i did heroic raiding in wow, i dont care about the next tier of " SUPPOSED HARDNESS ". I can tell just by leveling , ALL content is way too easy...
But. But but but. Add-ons make the game easier not harder...

This is the best part of any game ever.

You can check their gear, they can watch videos of the encoutner on YouTube, but currently there isn't much you can do in terms of seeing if they understand their character, without micromanaging, trial and error etc.

With damage meters for example, after 1-2 fights you would be able to see who is pulling their weight and who isn't. The alternative is to randomly swap people in/out until it works without really knowing who is trying and who isn't, for a pug, when people may only play for a few hours, this isn't ideal.
The lack of a DPS meter still doesn't prevent them. Makes it more comfortable, yes.

Edit: Stupid typo

Except you can (shows damage in the final stat screen), but damage meters wasn't my point for pvp. Please actually read the thread.

It makes it impractical for them to put together a group, because if the group isn't performing they cannot realistically see where the problem is. Doesn't prevent them no, you're right, but it does make it a lot more difficult for them to fix any problems.

Addons are fluff (or at least they should be), that should make the game a little more user friendly.

And this leads to a bit different discussion, which on the other hand is pretty much the core of this one aswell.

There are so many interesting topics throughout this forum and others.

People demanding challenge to games and at the same time they want addons that make things easier for them.

It's really hard for a developer to keep a track on what people actually want, don't you agree?

Come on, this is easy...

Since combat logs and whatnot give you all the info of why you wiped without looking at your screen during a run, you need to be punished, rather than awarded for your wipe (awarded with all the intel you need to not wipe again).

Simple, no? :P

In all situations you can find a way to better yourself or your group. It's laziness if you want combat logs to do that for you. It makes the game easier and cuts from the fun for some people.

There are people complaining that HM FP are too hard and they can't do them right after they hit 50. Should they be made easier? It would make the game easier and cut from the fun for some people. Same as with damage meters.

Dmg meters wont suddenly make it fun if its not already fun.
