Photo Album Round < 2 >: post Patch 1.1.1

Again the usual disclaimer and clarification:

I've decided to take several pics during the last few days (live servers ofc), just to see the highest Operative crits compared to other classes, post Patch 1.1.1. I've taken samples of several classes to give some comparison points. This is just to give you an idea of some PVP figures in actual Warzones.

I included various damage tooltips from the same scoreboard into the same frame, to give you a better look at a glance. I did not edit it in any other way. You can verify by looking at the "total damage" in the tooltips and compare it to the "total damage" column.

In addition, for all those who claim that that Mercs/Commandos can only do 2-3k damage with their Tracer Missile spam, here is something for you. 4015 dmg from a Tracer Missile (his highest crit was 4377). Also attached is the scoreboard at the end of that match for general review.

I've spoken to a couple of Champ/BM Mercs, and they told me TM can hit for 5k or more if fully stacked with Relic/Biochem/Buff. Not only that, but other skills can hit for even higher, including Heatseeker Missile, Rail Shot, and Unload.

Just food for thought regarding class balance.

Make what you will of it, but my personal opinion and experience is that gear matters a lot (I'm currently Rank 59 with 1 Rakata, 1 Columni and 2 Cent pieces, while the rest is Champ gear, including MH and OH). Also preparedness and knowing your own class, as well as what to expect from other classes makes all the difference. This helps you to know when is the best time to use which skill.

Burst potential is not restricted to Operatives/Scoundrels. It is true we do have a bit more burst than other classes, but it is nowhere near what people claim - the highest I've seen was a 6k Crit by a Rank 65 Full BM Operative (the best Operative on our server), and that was with full Bio/Cons/Buffs on a lesser-geared squishy target that was unshielded/undefended.

Also, other classes do their fair share of burst as well. The only difference is that we are restricted in how we deal that burst: i.e. only as an opener, from Stealth and from behind. And after that burst is spent, our sustained damage falls behind and other classes far exceed us. And remember, burst damage is the only thing we bring to the table as Concealment/Scrapper Operatives.

Equal gear already levels the playing field quite well. And, many players already figured out how to fight against us. It is not too hard. Heck, some sorcs/sages learned to knock me back right before I knock them down.

Lastly, PVP in this game is based on group PVP anyway, not 1v1 where historically Stealth classes have always had an advantage. And in group PVP Operative/Scoundrel are, in my experience, the least useful and/or most vulnerable or downright useless, especially when it comes to Warzones like Huttball, the most played WZ, where Shields, Guards, Force Speed, Knockbacks, friendly/hostile Pulls, and other types of CC and group utilities reign supreme.

TL;DR

All those photos show Sorcs and BH being top damage dealers with an occasional Imperial Agent (can't even tell if it is a sniper or operative).

Yeah, well, in the 10-49 bracket that may be true but OP is clearly not writing about that...

Maybe that tells you something? And actually the biggest crit was from a Sith Warrior.

None of this matters because people are talking about the burst and the 1v1 knockdown/dead-while-i-get-up-off-the-ground ********... Just because you don't play with ops that do nothing but stack crit and surge doesnt mean that they don't exist. And keep thinking that hits for 6k+ don't happen with 10% expertise, again simply cuz you havent seen it.

No, they nerf will take care of the insta-gib and force all those ops/scoundrels who got carried to battlemaster with that free kill scheme will have to learn how to actually "rogue" their class and learn to play cd's instead of just "omg my crits are so hard! i'm pro cuz i press two buttons"

the real op's will step up and the ones who got free battlemaster will fall to the wayside, this is a good thing. It'll weed out the bads reeeeeeeeeeal quick.

Sadly Op you are wasting your time. As you can tell by the fact the all the QQ and whines have shifted to BH / Sorc, the moanfest about agents is over. Simple reason being is that 1.1 fixed agents insane burst by removing buff stacking.

However you will always get buthurt Sorcs (see poster above me) who will continue to demand blood and claim that 6k crits still happen all the time. They don’t, unless you are fighting a BM in greens. Buts that true of any class.
Agents and Scoundrels are fine as they are now, I have not been killed before the stun wears off since pre-1.1

People are running around with over 16k-23k HP in BM gear. Even assuming an opening crit for 6k, how is that instagib? Even after a "mythical" full rotation of crits during the 3s knockdown: 6k + 3k + 3k = 12k. How is that instagib?

Its so true. All the players crying about nerfing this and that are clearly the sub-par skilled of the community. Why? The patch for OP isn't even out yet, and they havn't even seen how must burst the changes will bring in action.

Yet, they are already crying about sorcerer/sage and mercs/comm. Its clearly they don't want to improve on thier own skills and just want something to whine about till Bioware have buffed the class they are playing so they can feel good about themselves and how good they are. But clearly due to the reason they just simply have no skills for pvp.

I have seen all classes break 500k+ dps and all classes have some really good player behind it. To all the nerf criers, maybe you guys should try to improve on yourselves instead of trying to bring others down. I guess its human nature to not admit that.....you suck.
