The ability delay is not a myth, sorry.
Nor is the horrible optimization and performance. Awesome when my friend can achieve higher fps in BF3 @ ultra specs than he can running this game.
Nor is the even worse optimization for dual cores. 30-50 fps in the open world, 10-15 in a warzone and looks absolutely terrible and is completely unplayable.

PvP is enough to kill this game. It's in that bad of a state. It's just horrible right now.

They need to do a better game copying WoW. WoW wouldn't have selected the Hero Engine for mass pvp. They built theirs from scratch. When WoW has game bugs they get on it. EA has globs of cash, so they are in the same ball park as Blizzard. Their weak efforts since launch hints to me they have reverted to a cut your losses mode. That means eventually gutting the staff to work on other projects, and place this game in cruise control. They've already got the bulk of their money up front in game sales.

SWG was the biggest POS I ever played. No thanks.

If BW is looking for depth, look at some things from EQ. Uncle Owen can blow it out his bottom side.

BioWare doesn't exist. Why people keep fooling their selves over a name that is completely controlled by EA, and only kept around to keep the brainless drones in check, is entertaining.
We don't have end game in The Old Republic for a simple reason: a lot of developers are, well... idiots.

That said yeah there is a lot of features that should be made into the game since the begining, and i actualy dont find swtor nothing like wow. Its an MMO genre so its not strange that all MMOs look a bit of the same, just like fps all look alike. WoW is fun on pvp part, but had alots of time to learn from players and from live stats. swtor dont have that. I prefer questing in swtor then in wow much more. pvp , warzones is fun but the open areas not just ilum, needs a system that calls players to be there, and the performance issues need to be improved as well. That said i dont think bioware as failed, they did what they said they would do, the game feels like the KOTORs then anyother game imo. Also manny features they had in beta like chat bubbles and color macthing for gear, they removed from launch, dont know why, maybe because they feel they could do better then that, and decided to those features not being at launch , but added later with a new design mechanic, i dont know if its a good decision or not, to maintain subs, but i respect their decision. If what comes later is even better, i would be glad.
Bioware only failed for me with Dragon age 2 so far. It was a let down. Not swtor, im havinga blast with swtor.
Holy snappin' arsels batman . . . a poster who gets it!

The game is only failing for players who choose not to adapt to it. And that's ok because one size does not fit all, regardless of what MARCOM geniuses want the masses to believe. SWTOR will thrive because:
  • gamers who are playing now, enjoy it and like where it's going will continue to do so
  • gamers who have been monitoring the situation and waiting to see if it's what they want and find that it is will come on board.
  • gamers who find the game not to their liking will leave.
There will eventually be more coming on board than there will be leaving, because this isn't a [insert favorite MMO name here] clone. Sure it uses WASD movement, numerical ability keys, QE strafing, F-key targeting, buffs, heals, ... even has a skills tree (derived from their own KOTOR skills tree which predates WoW's talents by 2 years btw.) It has PvE, PvP, dungeonesque instances and raids like every other solid MMO. A fundamental level of end-user controls and environment familiarity is what allows players to jump right in and not feel lost. But that's about where it ends.

TOR is not a single player game. If it were then players could do CYA saves as they progress. They can't so it isn't. However the game does allow solo players to experience the vast majority of content. So there is something for them. Though they'll need to be well above level appropriate to solo heroics or flashpoints, and some flashpoints require multiple players to access certain bosses.

People can group up and do flashpoints and ops together - with the possible exception of players on low pop servers, but that's getting fixed too. The game thrives around two player parties (think companions) which essentially provides them with the challenge of playing two characters at once. But flashpoints are best served with four player groups and (for me at least) is the most fun party configuration.

WoW didn't have end game PvP until 6 months after it's release, and its first true end game raid was AQ, which was patched in 12 months after release. While not perfected yet, SWTOR already has those in place.

It's even way less instanced than GW, STO or LOTRO - and has close to the same amount of instancing as WoW. The map and minimap only give the appearance of the zones being instanced as a design courtesy so players can have an autozoom with colored arrows telling them where they need to go. Walk through the zones (other than class quest zones or group heroic instances) and there is no break in screen painting, just like crossing the borders bewteen Desolace & Feralas in WoW.

Enduring fanboi taunts are insignificant if one enjoys the game, and it works both ways. The folks who don't want to be here will eventually depart for their own reasons. The rest will remain and simply enjoy the ride.
Can we please just have our pre-KotFE SWTOR MMORPG back?

Sorry dude, you lost all credibility right there by mentioning SWG...

That game was never good. nor was it ever fun...

If it was such a god game and such a fun game it would not have taken the @ss-whopping it took from Blizzard's World of Warcraft..

AS soon as WOW was released people couldn't get away from SWG fast enough......

You probably liked SWG, and that's fine, but you make up a minority community that isn't very large..

Sorry dude, but Bioware is not going to copy SWG... They aren't dumb.
