Can a Jugg DPS spec be on par with a Marauder's DPS?

After running several trials to test dps with all our raid members (we've cleared everything on nightmare except for Soa at this point (**** phase 3 ball lightnings) and with players in all rakata gear in a 3 minute time-stamp test, we found that all DPS was more or less in the ballpark of 1350ish unbuffed (this was on a world boss so it had 10% less damage taken too). I pulled ~1311 DPS and our marauder pulled 1347 while our snipers pulled around 1370, the difference isn't MASSIVE between the clases and tbh it's not very noticable either. It comes down to what the group wants from the player and whether or not they can trust the player to do their job.

Which world boss? Not all bosses have the same amount of DR, theres three "brackets" of DR for bosses, 20-25% for some, 30-40%, and 50%. In a 5 minute timed test I pulled 1495 dps completely unbuffed and with no adrenals / relics on a boss with 30% DR. Seems you were on one with 40%, by those numbers.

coming from a guy who went vengeance spec up to lvl 50, jugs just arent in the same league as the marauder. I just dont see it. Im a lvl 23 with my marauder now and am completely shocked by how much more powerful a marauder is in terms of dps.

As it should be. That's all a Marauder can do. It's only fair, if a Jugg in Vengeance could out parse a Marauder - we'd have a useless class which would be a problem. Vengeance fully specced should put a Jugg at a Marauder's base stat at best - nothing more.

DPS is actually very well done at the end game from all the spreadsheets and in game testing on world bosses. Rage Juggs actually have the highest theoretical DPS potential for all Sith warriors but doing the rotation perfectly its close to inhuman. Vengeance/Anni/Carnage are all very very close.

One of the few things this game has done exceptionally well!

The implication here seems to be a jug can switch on the fly, sorry to break it to you a dps specced jug is dps. The exact same argument has already been played out ad infinitum in many other mmo's and the consensuses so far from the industry's dev's is they agree.

What spec are your marauders?

What part of anything that I said was implying I believed Specs could be changed on the fly?

What I'm saying is a Juggernaught who specs into Vengeance or Rage, should not be able to sit neck and neck with Marauder in their respected trees. It should be, as Devs explained months ago, that classes are within a simple margin in performance from one another. What was the number they said, 10%? Or something like that.

And a dps specced jugg in a run is different how?

What I'm saying is like every other AAA mmo all speccs should be treated as what they are.

Ideally as the dev's of blizzard and trion will tell you if all dps class's are capable of similar dps why would you prefer one over the other.

Not that any of this matters to 98% of us who aren't on the bleeding edge of any mmo's progression.

I'm not so sure that is true. The one person I have seen mapping it out depended on using retaliation to do it. The thing is, retaliation never procs for me in raids.

I will say it may be possible in a 1v1 fight. I have tested the rotation the guy was doing and it was close to the vengeance dps.
