Just like rift and steam?

Origin is a brand of EA, Bioware is a brand of EA.

You guys are totally missing the entire point.

It shouldn't matter if you have a keylogger if the authenticator was working properly.

And for the self-righteous on this thread, a reminder; TOR exists in the real world, not in some delusional fantasy world where everyone is a computer geek. Most people have never even heard of "No-script" and other applications like that. The point is, if they have an authenticator, they shouldn't have to know about that stuff to protect their TOR account.

Rift is a developer, and Bioware is a developer.

@OP

That's a little worrying. Did they actually get to your SWTOR characters?

I understand they gained access to your EA account because SWTOR and EA accounts are linked and then changing your email/password on one does the same on the other, but did they get to your characters in game, strip them of cash and gear etc?

Or did they authenticator keep the 'SWTOR' side of things protected?

Well if the accounts are supposedly linked why is it I have my swtor account under a separate email account then my EA or even my origin account. My Origin account is linked to an email account I have that I use just for receiving spam. Though my EA account and my swtor account seemed to be linked, I changed my password on EA and it did not effect my swtor account. It still remains the same.

I am not sure what the OP is trying to get at, if he is just trying to stir up **** and saying hey EA and Origin should use authenticators as well just think there are millions more users out there that don't play TOR that access the sites so to have an authenticator to access those accounts would go over like a fart in a submarine.

I have never had any online account, gaming or otherwise hacked, I use virus protection, firewall protection and numerous other methods to make sure I don't get malware. Not saying it hasn't happened but I have caught it and corrected it in short order.

wrong, swtor and EA accounts are not linked.

The OP used the same email login/pw with origin and swtor.

im not defending bioware at all, i actually agree that there should not be a way to bypass an authenticator, however, i am pointing out that the initial fault of this whole debacle is, in fact, the OP....just sayin'

Are you sure? I changed my SWTOR password recently and that changed my Origin account password as well.

Thats the thing, The auth worked, and did not let them access the account.

The account was locked because someone kept trying to login in numerous times and failing (because they didnt have the auth key).

Wow does the exact same thing.
