Just for republic. I remember most forum polls were 45/55 or 40/60 in favor of the empire. Goes to show how good of a sampling forum posters are.

I have been seeing more people on as of late. I will say that the worlds always feel kinda empty even when they are not.

Some servers are dead or dieing, and some are doing just fine and growing.

Please merge the low pop servers.

All of the people that were enthusiastic got to the end game in the first 2 weeks and arnt logging in much at this point. Between myself and some friends we have 50's on three servers, in three different guilds and noticed a decline in activity on all of them. Operations were a joke, the loot distribution was a joke, crafting was pointless (insane amount of work to produce gear that was beneath easy to get pvp gear). World PvP was pointless, and WZ were no fun (you would queue to have the games end 3/4 of the time due to lack of republic players).

Effectively, there is nothing to do.

The folks stlll claiming this game are great are still in the 1-49 range. Leveling was enjoyable, but here is something to consider.

A) leveling follows a single player game feel. Consider how many people you actually SAW around you when you leveled up. Honestly the games population seems sparse.

B) Lag is immense in this game with lots of people on screen, and lots = 15 or more. Its something with the engine. its probably the reason every area is instances so heavily.

C) Loading screens are silly and everywhere in this game. To get from point A to point B generally requires 3-4 loading screens. Say im at the Imperial Station and want to get to Illum? I gotta zone out to my dock (brief load) then load my ship (long load) then load into illum. So at minimum that took 3 screens. If you are going to a planet that you have a space station (say , Korriban) add another 1-2 loading screens. I have a beast of a machine so its not an issue, but for most of my friends, its super annoying. They spend it feels a good % of their night watching loading screen tool tips. People in 1-49 arnt noticing this because you spend alot of time on a planet and then move on, but at 50 if you want to go exploring or follow up on holocrons...its really tedious

D) Bugs abound. Again something you dont notice so much leveling because you start noticing them one by one, but by the time you reach end game and have been reading your class forum, its hard to not get angry at all the bugs. Everything form being kicked out of WZ (unable to respawn) to something more fundamental like...the passive perk assassins get (and shadows) for being that advanced class does not work (the +% to shock does nothing. Test it out vs a same level sage/sorc with the same gear as you. Exact same damage min/max values when targetting the same mob in game).

E) The PvP Gear system is ridicolous. I want to find whoever built this and punch them.

To sum it up....
You pvp for token tier 1 to buy tier 1 items(level 20/40 blues)
Or you can turn it in for tier 2 tokens, for nothing directly really. (at a 3:1 ratio)
To get tier 2 items you need to take 200 tier 2 tokens and 200 tier 1 tokens and buy a backpack. That backpack has 3 tokens for tier 2 gear, or 1 token plus a random item you can turn in for a tier 3 item.
To get tokens for tier 3 items, you must complete dailies/weeklies, some of which involve illume which is its own set of issues.

So, its convoluted and includes RNG chance. I've seen players that have gotten 40+ backpacks but only 1 tier 3 item. Others get 10 items in 10 bags. Its all utterly random.

Operations are a joke, simple cc/tank and spank affairs. There is no interesting boss or encounter design to speak of.

OMG Bioware we need more servers turns into OMG the game is dead. Us long time MMO vets told all of you to ride out the long q times because there would be a substantial drop off after the first month. Ultimately, its Biowares fault though. Why they released so many damn servers is beyond me.

I picked a overly populated server because I knew this was going to happen. You know what my fleet looks like at even 1am on any given weekday? Well over 200. 350+ during prime time.

Don't expect Bioware to actually address the problem unless the game is actually dying. WoW has over 240 US servers alone and yes over half of them are flat out dead. Other servers literally have 100:1 Horde to Alliance ratio and nothing is done. The amount of dead servers in WoW is pretty staggering and they have been this way since BC.

I really hope Bioware can swallow their pride and merge low pop servers in the best interest of the player base.

Anchorhead usually has around 250 folks on the fleet at prime hours.

I feel like they may have had too many servers at launch and a number got the short end of the stick once populations leveled out.

When I joined Ruin on my server, they had split into several different sub guilds since the max was 500 per guild. Now each sub guild has several hundred open slots.

Releasing too many servers wasn't the only mistake. The staggered early access forced many people to wait on new servers to get their names anyways.

And kath hound was NOT great pop wise when I stopped playing empire side, I doubt it's gotten better. Anyone who thinks the game's population is healthy must not have a proper frame of reference, IE games that actually have had lots of people running around making the world seem alive.
