Their metrics are very limited and almost useless in terms of what players enjoy due to the limited scope of gameplay. I don't enjoy PvE very much however I have had to do it in order to keep myself active. Some players hate warzones however they do them because there is very little else to do. I hope you see this point.

Finally why do you post on these forums if you believe as you do, that anything you post is of little to no consequence and retains no value?
You are getting a lot of support from forum posters, which is good. You put a lot of work and creative energy into this idea. I think any expenditure of creative energy is good. If you want this idea to move forward, though, and become part of an actual game, then you're going to have to look elsewhere. Write up a business plan, find some venture capital, and hire a development team. It won't be in the Star Wars universe, but there are plenty of writers who can come up with a compelling and interesting universe and story.

As I have said before, no matter how many pages of people /sign this thread, Bioware will never implement your ideas. That's not how companies work. If the customer service team were allowed to do so, they would come in here and tell you the same thing. I'm sure they've read this thread, and they may like what you've said, but that's as far as it's going to go.

Bioware's metrics are not limited and not at all useless. They have more data than perhaps you realize. They even record the in game conversations people have over the various chat channels. Game companies track everything that happens in games. Unless you are experiencing a very obscure bug, there is literally nothing players do in games that they don't already know about.

Because you don't enjoy PvE does not mean that hundreds of thousands of people share your opinion. I don't like PvE very much, and most of the people in this sub-forum prefer PvP, but you're self selecting a population pre-disposed to prefer PvP. The same can be said about some people hating warzones, or any other aspect of the game. There isn't a point to be made about that. Every aspect of the game will not be equally enjoyed by every member of the community. Just because you or I dislike something, doesn't mean everyone, or even a majority of people do.

As for suggestions for fixing Ilum, I think they need to fix the faction imbalances, and Gabe or Georg recently indicated that they are going to force faction balancing in Ilum. That's going to upset a lot of Empire players (particularly on greatly imbalanced servers) but I think it's a big step towards improving Ilum.

What you're doing with your post is like going to a movie, then telling the director about the film you wish he had made. In the end it's not really constructive. Bioware isn't going to go back and remake their game any more than Christopher Nolan would re-shoot Batman because you wanted him to face off against the Riddler. This is the game Bioware made. They will make changes, but at its core, the game will remain the same. Look at other long running MMO's. The core mechanics and the core design remains the same.

And lastly, you ask why I post on these forums. I enjoy interacting with the community. I don't have any misconceptions about the effect anything I say has on Bioware, but there are plenty of posts that aren't about anything other than how to play the game, rather than how to change it. And at no point have I said that what is posted on these forums retains no value. I have tried to be respectful to your ideas and your point of view, please don't mistake my criticisms for insults, and please don't stray into insults yourself.

even a greatly reduced version of this would likely make TOR the best open world PvP game out there.

It is sad but true, just one idea can beat everything the big companies can come up with.

An by this "idea", I mean something which we have all been thinking about, but never really felt like putting it into words, be it either because of pure laziness or the thought that it would amount to nothing by doing so

I do still have a little hope left in bioware, even though they have started releasing a bit to many games without a map editor, I do still believe that they have the ability to listen to their community and man up do something about it, as they have done in the past

Love the detail and work you put into this sir. I also like the ideas you have for pvp, and I believe that this system would take the game to a new level. Bioware needs to hire you as a system designer IMHO. Saddly, they will never give us anything like this, I mean hell, we cannot even get chat bubbles and some chairs in a cantina to sit on....

Well friend, it seems that you are dancing to the wrong tune with the wrong partner. To say Bioware's metrics are not limitted is a bit of an oxymoron (as metrics refers to measurements), on top of that it is also completely false. Yes Bioware's metrics are capable of measuring the duration of time a player spends on certain activities, but the information obtained is extremely limitted. For example i may spend 40 minutes doing a hardmode flashpoint with friends, but i'll spend 1 hour complaining about how God awful the experience was on TS. Any MMO's survival is based upon it's ability to listen to feedback and react.
- And that is how companies work, by listening to their clients/customers and giving them what they want.
