Are you for real? Maybe he doesn't wanna go outside or maybe he can't go outside or maybe, just maybe it's none of your damn business. If you don't have anything to add to the conversation, just don't post, it's that easy.

Hahahaha. You really think they got 5 level 85s because leveling is more fun there?

Would you be heartbroken if I told you that it actually is? The combat is fluid, which makes playing the character fun. You can take a different path and level in completely different zones than how you leveled on your previous character(s). The world is full of life, makes it fun running around. The quests have diversity, you don't just run around clicking 10 items and killing 35 mobs as bonus for every single damn quest. Plus you got a helluva lot endgame content waiting for you to do when you finish the process.

Hmmm...

I hear ya though. I guess I just wasn't surprised because I've level multiple toons in other MMOs and they never offered differing quests OR stories. At least there's some difference in story here.
I shot first.

Having played Vanilla WoW (and 5 more years worth of content), this just doesn't add up. I'm not defending SWTOR for not including some of the features that should have damn well been in the game already, but saying a game that's been in development for over 10 years now has more content than one with less than half that time under it's belt... kind of a no brainer. It's ridiculous to think that they could have launched with as much content as WoW + 3 expansions (and however many content patches)...

I loved WoW when it first came out, but it didn't launch with the plethora of the stuff you think it did...

Why can't we like both WoW and SWTOR? They're games. Have fun.
I shot first.

You are under the impression that I hate World of Warcraft. Far from it, however I'm not going to claim that they have a riveting exciting leveling system.
  • I enjoy the combat of my various classes. Got some bugs they are working on (I expect that with a launch title) but the game is more than "just playable".
  • Different paths in different zones to do the same thing yet everyone still ends up going to the same zones while leveling (A great example is STV) and ALL that diversity in leveling zones happen on Azeroth. Yea Outlands got a WHOLE bunch of different zones to level in. What about Northrend? 2 "options" that converge into one when you get higher Cataclysm? Same thing.
  • Explain full of life? Because in TOR I see life. Some of it is players some of it is NPCs. For me it's always the little things that matter that makes things feel off without it and TOR has it.
  • Explain how much more different the quests are? You have your killing quests, loot collection quests, item pickup collection quests, delivery quest, general just talk to guy X quest etc etc etc. The ONLY quest that I can think of that is different in its mechanic is the bombing quests.

Now yes WoW has a story. Not that prevalent but it is there. TOR however has something that has you saying "What's going to happen next?" perhaps it's not for you but it sure as hell is for me. Those bonus kill quests and side quests in TOR generally has you killing/collecting/talking to people you'll be passing or mobs you'll be killing on your way to the class quests. over 1/2 the time the quest is done or almost done by the time you reach your class quest objectives. I don't have to go in the opposite direction.

However I've noticed that there are areas that I completely skipped while leveling. On a different toon I went exploring and what do I find? You got it quests I never did before.

The OP and a lot of others burn themselves out by trying to do too much too fast. 3hrs a night is not casual. We're not even talking about weekends that's a part time job there.

Appreciate your civilized response, it's a rare sight on this forum. Let me comment on the list you made then.

- Combat in swtor is plagued by the ability delay. For me it's very annoying and not enjoyable at all. Throw in companion dependency with their bugged abilities and mediocre AI, problematic tab targeting and rigid ui, and it's an experience I find very cumbersome.

- There are multiple zones per level range in wow. You have choices to do quests you haven't done before on a new alt, even though obviously some areas will overlap here and there. In swtor there is only 1 path to follow. I couldn't get myself to finish leveling an alt after I got my first char to 50 because of this. I kept feeling that I've been there, done that.

- Full of life refers to things like day/night cycle, dynamic weather, critters, ambient sounds, patrolling mobs, all the fluff that is there in constant motion, giving a vibe of a living breathing world.

- From WotLK onwards there has been a great variety in questing in WoW. Mainly assisted by the introduction of vehicles (in a very broad sense) and phasing. There's actually extremely few quests that actually ask you to kill X amount of mobs anymore, next to none.

Perhaps. Everyone has a different leveling experience. Then again I'm leveling differently on different toons. One I'm doing more of the questing thing. One more flashpoints (I like em having other players act the fool up in a flashpoint talking smack about some of the oddities you see), one is strictly a PvP character, don't know if I'm going to get into space missions or not. Who knows would need to upgrade my ship and try it out properly.

So far i'm having a blast. If I wasn't I wouldn't even be on the game or the forums. Only reson why I'm is cause i'm at work, working on my assignment and taking a "quick peak" or looking up some info that may be here to clear up something in game (the main reason forums were designed for, information sharing).

On the note of information sharing follow the link in my sig and help other people understand that the more people using it (even through they may think it is crap) will help them out in the long run till BioWare implements a better system.
