So there i was.. and i see a thread on how this game will succeed. Open it up and first thing i see is WoW comparisons. I believe this is the 3 millionth thread i've read comparing "insert new mmo title here" to WoW. So lets keep it goin!

This game is better than....

FFXI - cuz your not forced to group

Aion - cuz no crazy grindage to get to max lvl

AoC - cuz none of that stupid actiony combat

Realm of the Mad God - cuz it's not 2d

APB - cuz there's direction

Global Agenda - cuz it's not a glorified lobby shooter

Rift - cuz there's none of those stupid events messing up my questing

DC Universe - cuz i hate tights

Fallen Earth - cuz post apocalyptic settings make my head hurt

FFXIV - cuz it resembles an actual game

Mortal Online - cuz there are things to do - sandbox? blah

Guild Wars 2 - cuz this game is actually out.

SWTOR wins again!.. i love these threads... let those opinions be heard!

Bearing in mind that we're a month into the game, when is it 'ok' to hit level 50?
I know, but more of the players crying are the rushers not the people that took their time. One of the main reasons I would think they started with less is so they have features to add into patches, now why wait? Good question but it does look good when patches seem to have more things added into them.

You cannot say the game is good and amazing simply because people haven't max leveled yet. (Companies are constantly coming up with new features to add to their games beyond the standards, why can't bw just do that after they make the standards too..?)

You can stay in Pallet town, but I'm on the road to Viridian City!

That's a very risky game to play though. It works for content, I've seen several people saying 'they're releasing new content after only three weeks!!!!', when in reality the content would have been withheld from launch to coincide with the start of paid subscriptions.

Withholding features isn't a good idea; sure, I'll be glad when basics like a combat log and UI customization are released, but I'll find it hard to congratulate Bioware. How many subscriptions have already been lost due to missing basics?

Except that you can't add features to a car after you sell it, but you can with MMOs.

That makes a HUGE difference because making software takes time. The sheer number of features to implement in an MMO is staggering and in order to make innovations, like a Fully Voiced Storyline RPG inside your MMO, you have to cut some features.

Wait... you dislike AoC's combat / Rift's ... well... Rifts?

Ok that's it, I hate SWTOR's voice-over quests.

It's true people are playing less but whether is was because the game launched over winter break or people are leave I'd say it's a bit of both but since we really don't have a good scale of whether it's people stopping subs or most players have less time to play it will take time to tell. Also the game is online which is a marvel of tech power and skill of the coders so I can say good job.

i said nothing of the sort. learn to read.

he used one of the worst parts of rift as to why it's a better game. that's absurd.
