How slow travel time threatens Warzones

The exploit needs to be fixed right away.

As far as the travel goes, I think immersion is vital, but the travel should not be an annoyance, that people are going to dread each time they have to go somewhere. There is a fine line to draw, and I think Bioware has put in one to many steps in the travel sequence. For me, it's the elevators in each space port and station. Get rid of those and Bob's your uncle.

People are going to go thru those travel steps thousands of times in their time in the game...it doesn't need to be painful. It's akin to hundreds of mobs dotting travel paths that dismount you everytime you go by...it just gets annoying.

Mainly because I like rpg style gameplay which is what mmo's are meant to be about, is why I like things like running from a to b, no matter how long it takes, it's not like an hour or 2 to get from one place to another, I've also suggested player apartments on these space stations and market stalls for players goods to make more use of them, but that went down like a lead balloon. Instead of people requesting old style gameplay as in quicker travel or removing parts of the game, why don't people try ajusting to new styles of play and get into the rp aspect of mmo's, which is what mmo's rightly are.

I do agree with you that most people want to get to their task quickly. However, the ports are areas that serve no purpose to players that have gone through them already. Hell, even the instanced quest zones/caves/whatever are locked to you after you have done everything associated with them. In general, travel is pretty quick (From the space travel, speeders, fleet passes and quick travel) it's just that the massive low point are all of the ports and stations. I think removing them would stream line interplanetary travel. It wouldn't be game breaking if they stick around, just an annoyance really.

But you could still take the long way.

People can agree or disagree on this topic, because there is really no fact to dispute. The original post does mention that people will use the warzone to fast travel to the fleet, and I will heartily agree. People will absolutely do this... I had to go AFK in a warzone because of an issue with one of my pets -- I came back and was at the fleet. I was forced to go, "hmmm. that's handy." SO -- people WILL use it to travel. Make no mistake about it.

But then you get inbalance and guild members start telling you take the quick route or don't join guild and that kinda palava......Travel has to be the same across the board

The right answer to this isn't to speed up travel. It's plenty fast enough already. The right answer is to remove the "respawn in fleet" exploit.
Yea no. Travel times are rediculously long and unnecessary. Traveling shouldnt take ~ 10 minutes no matter *** your doing. Then add in all the loading screens. Yea if you enjoy traveliń like a slug thats fine , but vast majority of players do not.

No one is asking for instant travel.

Um how about you go get a security key then for 1000 cred you get a fleet pass that has what, an hour cool down? If that combined with the daily one isn't enough for you, then I dunno what to say. Quit being so ADHD and finish what you were doing before going to fleet.

It would only make it easier for you to find a guild that likes to see the world and take the scenic routes.

THis is silly, I can get to the fleet from anywhere in the world far faster than I can "AFK Fleet" by queuing for a warzone.

Even if you're not AFK, waiting for a warzone, getting in, then waiting for the timer to kick you out is significantly slower than the 2-4 minutes it takes you to get to the fleet from anywhere in the game even with the "14 step overly exagerrated" process people complain about here.

Quick Travel to starport ( 6 sec)
Zone Hop to Ship (1 min tops )
Ship to Fleet ( 20 seconds )
Zone from Ship to Fleet ( 20 seconds)
Run to where you want to be in fleet ( 30 seconds)

14 steps or no, it does not take long. I've found the speeder ride on Illum to the warzone to take longer (1 min 20 seconds for that speeder ride).

14 steps?

Step 1: Recall or take taxi to fleet flashpoint transport on every planet past starters.

Step 2: take transport directly to fleet.

Wow ... those are a lot of steps 0.o

I have a VIP account and I have NEVER found the need to buy a fleet transport pass. I do use my 18 hour one from time to time because it is there. Heading to planets isn't bad as you typically head there for quite some time to do quests, etc and it is the return you want fast.
