I can't believe I'm posting about item rolls, or about this issue. People worry too much about loot, and I'm a big believer in just enjoying the game.
But poor claims hurt group dynamics, and there's no need for this kind of thing.

when I pointed out it was made for an Agent, like me, he said he intended to strip out the mods and trade them.

When I noted that the mods are Bound, he insisted that since he could wear it, he could roll. More surprising was that when he brought the issue to /General, a few voices agreed.

Most did not, but the others need to know that sort of claim i's a party-breaker. This is clearly an Agent item - a huge upgrade in my case - and my next group will get a little less healing as a result.

One of the pleasures of running Flashpoints is the chance to get gear suited to you. If it's better suited to someone else, leave it for them.
he is an idiot. no amount of excuses or justifying his greed changes it. it should have gone to you or another agent if there were any in the group. end of discussion

period

Need ONLY if it is of immediate benefit to your class NOW.
an orange item I can wear is of immediate benefit to my class NOW. Likewise, gear that my companions can wear is also of immediate benefit to my class NOW.

how cute, you declared an end to the discussion without actually substantiating your point in any way.

A roll/pass option is a horrible idea. I'm tanking your instance, I sure as hell deserve that tank piece more then Khem ok?

No, really, a lot of people may assume that's the norm, but it's not. You're just making an assumption, which makes an *** out of u and mption.

no, I think roll pass is a fine option. I'm tanking your instance, and I don't deserve any particular piece of loot any more than anyone else in the group does.

And the vast majority of players only use 1 or 2 companions, so needing for any of the others would be greed. I've only ever advocated "Companions you use".

And again, it's *stuff that's an upgrade* and you *know* is an upgrade. 90% of the time when I'm grouped, what drops off isn't useable by any of the companions I use, or I don't know is better.

That being said, it would be helpful if you got companion tooltips for your current companion even if your current companion isn't actually summoned. I'd imagine quite a few people wouldn't be needing because they *think* the item is better, or may be better, and they turn out to be wrong.

Unfortunately, this is something that can only be fixed with a change in the game mechanics. You would be wasting your breath trying to explain the concept of sharing to a selfish person.

These games evolve. Fixes and changes are entered into the release shell as time and bugs permit. Lets hope this one is high on the list.
