I would say the reviewer has little or no long term MMO experience, similar to many of the reviewers who have given TOR a positive review.

TOR is extremely buggy right now because it suffered from a pathetically small beta test that didn't test the endgame content in any real way or PVP and when bugs were pointed out, the devs appeared to ignore them. When they couldnt do that, they reset the beta forums to cover it up.... again... without fixing the bugs therein.

It's a good review, despite the fact that it comes from a source not well known for impartial reporting.

oh yeaaaa ?

oh yeaaahhh .........

...............

i have been playing games since sinclair zx spectrum, i have played every major game when they came out, i have played games that were so buggy that they required reboots every 10 minutes, i played uo when it mattered, i was there at aoc launch, i was there at swg launch, i founded cities, co-founded and ran guilds for a decade, i was there before starcraft became popular in korea.

.......................

and i am giving this game a positive review.

and, i havent seen any of those 'important' gamebreaking 'bugs' and issues despite having 9 toons in this game.

so ?!?!?

Trumpeting a NPR review of SWTOR as validation really says a lot about an individual.

only 1 reviewer, of about 20, has given it a negative review.

i guess that means there's only 1 gaming site that knows gaming!

oh wait, no that one negative review was that silly metacritic thing on the first day of release that was flooded by wow kiddies... and it still managed a 6/10 from that...

You're certainly attaching a lot of meaning to my single line post.

just about every major big named MMO reviews well and wins awards. That does not mean they will not fail or are anything special.

Imo MMO's are the hardest game to really get a review since like the reviewers are not really putting in the time and commitment to the game. Its not like its a single player game where you play for a couple hours or w/e and know if the game sucks or not.

1. Warzone wins not counting

2. Some players can't update the game to log in

3. Some players getting constantly booted from the game.

4. a game released in 2011 that doesn't use anti-aliasing at the time of release

5. a UI that cannot be customized in any way.

6. Class storyline quests that are intermittently bugged and do not allow some players to finish them.

7. Bosses from ingame instances that do not drop loot... or bug out and prevent instance progression.

8. A pvp system that doesn't award skill, but awards gear through a lottery system that rewards chance (champ bag system)

9. Customer Service that according to over a 1000 players in a variety of posts, has yet to resolve a single customer service ticket.

10. fanbois who claim that individuals with real and valid issues are unnecessarily complaining.

11. Retardedly low Frames Per Second caused by a graphics engine that is nowhere near optimized.

12. Graphics do not use SLI technology.

13. Missing gear never replaced.

14. Mail sometimes gets permenantly lost.

15. Developers not acknowledging issues or responding to customer concerns regarding major issues.

16. Known Issues being deleted without being fixed.

Shall I continue with the bug/issues list that remains unresolved?

I get there are those who want to compare this game to WOW or other games as far as launch is concerned. However, EVERY game company should have learned something from those mistakes. Further, the gamer market has gotten more savvy and less tolerant of mistakes that are avoidable, which most of the above are.

Every other game since WOW that has had these issues has either failed or lost the majority of its sub base. While I like the game, despite the bugs, to claim its a great game, is at best ignorant.
