You picked an MMORPG, are playing it like a first person shooter where you race to the top to get the biggest gun, and wonder why its not working? ;p
You presume that. I had a break from work after completing some long projects, and didnt want to leave the state. I spent most days playing SWTOR. I did every class quest, most side quests, almost every flash point leveling up. I enjoyed the plot (best part of swtor) did my space dailies, pvped to.

I enjoyed the leveling process, then got to 50 to realize, thats all it was. The leveling process was the best I've liked in any game so far, but an MMO is defined as much by tis end game as it is by its leveling process. No one is paying 50 bucks + a monthly fee for the leveling process, else we would simply just play single player games or co-op games. MMOs are for the 'massively' aspect, and in that sense the game fails.

Operations are simplistic sophomoric affairs, boss design is dull and straight forward. There is no loot distribution system (seriously, if a piece of gear drops someone automatically receives it based off their class, not based off if they wanted it or not. I've seen folks with all great gear auto receive an item in lieu of a new player we had who really needed it. There was no player interaction at all).

The PvP gearing system is arcanic at best. You try explaining the following to a new player.

PvP to get a badge type
use that badge type to buy another badge type
use both the above badge types to buy a bag.
That bag will have your third badge type, and a chance (RNG) for an item from the fourth badge level
For the fifth badge level, do dailies

Who designed this? A sadist?

While your post is very long, im surprised some people actually took the time to read it... it is pretty clear, while your post was made today.. you havent actually played the game all the way through NOR have you played it recently.... id say you raged and quit somewhere in the neighborhood of level 30 TOPS...

how do i know this? considering you brought revan into your QQ fest, you described him in a manner that does not match is description in game... I must be honest i didnt play KOTOR and played maybe an hour of KOTOR2... Though i did do the two linked flashpoints, the ones you must have skipped because your computer is likely in bits and pieces.

Spoiler

Next and this is the biggest problem i have here.. is that Many of your claims were fixed on launch day... and the ones that were not, EVEN more were fixed a couple of weeks ago.. AND THEN EVEN MORE were fixed a couple of days ago?!

so yeah pretty much all of your wall of text is invalid.... whats left? no LFG tool? here if you are lonely try this: eharmony.com

you wont find match making here, not yet anyway

SWG shipped, a MMO that was almost a decade old with a UI that was movable and resizable. Recent games like Rift had even better from a company that spent pennies compared to BW.

Disagree. I think that the people with limited attention spans, that cannot or will not grasp the concept of a game such as this will leave. MMORPGers seem to be loving it.
Ah, resorting to insults. Good call. I been MMOing for 10+ years, it is my passion and it saddens me when a games that have potential start to fall flat.

Quote:
There are both. You were just too busy racing to 50 to notice? It rained at night last night on Nar Shaddaa.
Yes it rained, its always gloomy and day all the time. Go to tat or hoth and notice it is perma sunny, 24/7 and there is absolutely no storms at all. You know that iconic tat sunset in New Hope? Won't see that here, ever. But w/e, that is a design choice and will never change so I will accept that. Btw, I was in beta so I kind knew the path to 50 off by heart so all that content I saw months ago. Oh well?

Perhaps you are in the entirely wrong genre? First person shooters might better suit you? Just seems that you are looking for something very different.
As said, I am a long term MMOer. There has been a handful of games I have played for years, like say WoW which was 7. I have the capacity for a very long attention span, it all depends if the game has the ability to do that. TOR does not so far, but BW could improve many aspects if they choose. But sadly, seeing how long it takes them to do things now...it's going to be a bit of a wait.

In end this game is exceptional 1-49. After that it's just another mundane gear grind game.

I could see people not giving the game 5 stars, but the pure hatred that is evident simply bewilders me.
See that's how i know people have a made a good product. the reviews are really high and really low. That means that the crowd it was meant for likes it.

The people who do not can't be objective mark it 0.

This is not always the case but watch and you will see.

Also people will mark a product a 0 just because something went wrong even if its not the companies fault. Someone has to get the defect its a simple as that, doesn't mean the product in question is bad.

Mean they are raging and want to hurt the company somehow.

As for your tl:dr, you can sumerise you entire monster of a post in one line and except people to argue the point.

"patches dont fix anything" Really? The last patch was a pretty great one. My fps on ilum and fleet increased by like 30% and i have zero ability delay. Not to mention the 50 other bugs they fixed.

For the rest of your post,,so you arent even done leveling and you quit? Good job. You didnt even get to the good stuff. Im enjoying flashpoints and ive done one operation at karagas palace which was fun. The rest of your post is just bla bla bla.

Personally i think the game has serious upside. Im having more fun here than ive had in years raiding in WOW. bioware obviously is not Sony and its clear they will not be as unresponsive as Sony was with swg. Im praying BIoware stays true to its vision and NOT change certain things that will make it more like WOW. This is the only big thing im worried about.

quiters quit. Especially lame when they really didnt give it a try. Complete every flashpoint and raid and have a full set up artifact raiding gear then give your opinions. Giving up now is just sad and i feel srry for you.

and over 15bux? really?

Yeah, saying you are not flaming when you are, infact, flaming by insulting a person does not equal a win. Or a pass for flagging.
Honestly curious because I cannot understand why someone that decided that they did not like a game would blog it on a message board where people who may love the game come to read. I am honestly curuios is this is some sort of need these people have, if they do it with everything they try, or if its just this game.

You can contend that it is flaming simply because I am questioning your logic or state of mind when doing something that strikes me as obsessive if you like, but, well, there it is.

Quote:
However I will bite and answer you for the OP. He is posting this, and on Amazon, likely because he paid good hard-earned money for a product and recieved something that was less-than. What he recieved was a PRE-CURSOR to the product that was previewed to him. SWTOR is not a finished game, nor is it really fun in the long-term.
You will spend more then that taking a girl out on a date. Does he blog that if she does not accept a second date? You spend more on a couple of slices of pizza and a beer then you do for a month long subscription to this game.

I'm not buying the "hard earned money" thing. I see that as just another excuse for the behavior.....and again, why I am questioning it. There is something far deeper then just "Hating pixels" at work here and I'm curious.

Quote:
BOTH OF THESE ARE OPINIONS!

Opinions that he, I, you, and anyone else who decides to say so are not only allowed to state because we paid the same as you, who are on the forums exercising your own opinion, but perhaps we feel obligated to warn others from a possible purchase with our bought-and-paid personal experiences? Or maybe encourage others to think OUTSIDE the blind and loyal fanboy box to see the game for what it is and is not?
That is called defamation, skip. Disparaging another based on your unfounded, unproven opinion is not "opinion". Please, before you attempt to lecture me on the principles of opinion and debate, know what you are talking about in that context. ;p

Quote:
Suggesting someone is 'impaired' because they choose to write a post critiquing a game is not only obvious 'flaming', but downright insulting on a personal level. I feel bad for you
.

A game that you have left? A game that you are not playing? No, sorry. Normal is to stop paying and move on as its only a game. I left Wow. I canceled, moved on. I did not blog about it for a few months afterward. This is not normal. It tends to sound like control issues, "I quit, so I fee that everyone should quit and I'll do whatever I can to sway them in that direction". There is where my curiosity lies.

Does he do this with everything? Is it just games? How many games has he rage quit in the last year?

Quote:
EDIT: And to clarify for myself...MY issue with the game, and why -I- feel obligated to post such as this, is because I was promised and paid for a triple-A budget, high-quality, innovative and immersive MMORPG. Bioware did not deliver on ANY of these fronts...not for lack of time or resources, but I honestly feel they simply got lazy and were forced to rush it early. And they acquiesced. We, as players, were betrayed by a greedy company, and until they show a real drive and determination to not only FIX the game but LISTEN to their players I will continue ( at least for the next month of my sub ) to be vocal in my support of those who choose to express their opinions be they good or bad.
Here is the part you seem to be missing. it is your opinion....and no one cares. I actually disagree and feel they delivered an excellent product, and do not want to waste my time slogging through a bunch of "I hate this game" posts by people that have already quit the game.

I come to this board to read about the game, not your blog on how you don't like it and left. Move on. Don't let the door hit you in the arse. Let us continue to play the game, and I hope that you find more satisfaction in your next game.

Agreed with everything above and sadly just canceled my subscription. I really tried to enjoy the game - and till around lvl 20 (tried almost all chars dark/light till 20-30) I enjoyed a lot, but then I cannot tell why - I lost the excitement, I should feel the "open world" on Tatooine and Alderan how I was promised, but I am sorry - there is not open world, I cannot feel it, I feel guided in tunnels (nice try). I believe they can do a lot in future and the game actually has potential so maybe after 5-6 months I am gonna give it a shot again.

You didn't like it, i'm sorry to hear that.

You did like it? thats great too!

The point is the OP has no POINT to what he's doing, claiming he has the RIGHT to do it is just ignorant.

I also have the right to jump off a 10,000 foot cliff, but you don't see me standing in line for that.

Just because you CAN do something, doesn't mean you SHOULD.

Exactly.
