Anyone Feel Like This game Is Dead?

I do think the went way overboard with the number of servers which is probably the biggest reason why everything seems 'empty'.

Honestly I wish MMOs would get away from the whole dividing people up into servers models.....I am pretty sure the technology is there to make a single larger world....albeit having to utilizing instancing for some things.

I would much rather have a little wait/queue time if it meant I was going to get into a large world full of players everywhere.

Some people in this thread talk about 80 people on the fleet as if that is a good number.....sorry but for something as big as SWTOR is suppose to be that is a small number.

Axial Park hasn't had more than 40 people on fleet in prime hours in about 2 weeks. every planet i go to has between 1 (me) and 6 people on it.

Except Dromund Kaas. There's always like 40-50 people there.

Bottom line, server is dead. feels like alaska. the place you go when you don't want to be found.

I have characters on two different servers, and the difference is stunning.

On Mask of Nihilus, there is a large, vibrant user base. Always multiple people asking for folks to join HMs, 99% of the time I can find any crafting material in need in GTN, I sell the mod I get from the Belsavis 2+ heroic for 25k within an hour or two of listing it, my friends list gets a new person or two added each week just from randomly helping each other on quests, etc.

On The Defenestrator, it is as quiet as the grave. I cannot find level 1 crafting indredients on GTN-- that is not an exaggeration, I log in several times each night, and it is not uncommon for there to be literally zero offerings for Biochem materials. There are as few as 15 people at the fleet around midnight EST. The only mesages I see in chat are people asking why no one is around or plaintatively asking for materials/crafters because nothing is on GTN. If I see someone trying to put togther a group for any content (forget HMs) it's a minor miracle.

TL;DR: Some servers are doing great, some are in miserable shape.
Mask of Nihilus: Legacy (30): Meijin | Sentinel (50): Tesuji | Shadow (25): Sente
Defenestrator: Legacy (1): Meijin | Marauder (34): Shusaku

Dead? No. Can quest for an hour without seeing another player? Yes. Guess it all depends on definitions.

So the threads on these forums whip out of sight in no time from the masses of posts, it takes seconds to get a response from some forum person, and the forum only accounts for a small percentage of actual accounts and people playing the game, and yet you think TOR is dead?
If I agreed with you we'd both be wrong.

Playing Since 12-13-2011

And yet, well over half the servers had hour + long queues the week of release... With people here screaming every few minutes for more servers to be added.

that's what it is. the whole server is always running ops and hardmodes 24x7, leaving 40 people to populate the rest of the galaxy.

I think the best way I can describe it is one month in SWTOR 'feels' like some of the other games I played did 6-7 years in.

That really can't be a good sign.

it isn't dead. it will always have a fan base. kind of like rift. quarter million, maybe 400,000 players. but a lot of people bought this game and came to realize it wasn't for them. a lot.

servers need consolidation. bad.
