Furthermore, Bioware is already desperate in terms of PR, so you can bet things are tense at EAware.

Hate to say it, but I called all this. Just wait till month 3, when even those who subbed the first month or 2 get bored. It's all so amusing to watch because EA is evil.
What a heap of subjective crap, you called what? We will see in 2 months, funny how trolls and haters started with "you will see after the first month", now the tune is already "You will see in 3 months" LOL

Pathetic. Then what you gonna come up with "You will see in 6 months"? LOL

Are you trying to say that people should gauge this game by whether or not they're having fun?

In the grand scheme of things, I estimate that unless there is some monumental shift, you're not going to notice gradual up/down shifts in population. Stop worrying about it. :\
totally agree

also I would not even like to play the top dog anymore who thinks he can just about throw anything at me and thinks I'll eat it.
Just because you're not paranoid, doesn't mean they're not out to get you.

I think the first option is more likely
yeah, first option is more likely, entire guilds have moved or planned moving over, and in general servers are empty wastelands

why do you think Blizzard gave D3 free to anyone who would subscribe for a year? So in February when they have to show numbers, it won't look like they lost subscribers...

"NUMBERS GO UP" is the fundamental thing all MMOs are built out of. New gear? Cool, my numbers go up. Just levelled up? Lots of numbers, all going up! Let's spam Recount data so I can show everyone that my numbers went up better than anyone else's numbers. Sorcerer numbers go up from AoE spam in WZs and it's not fair because the score card at the end shows THEIR NUMBERS GOING UP more than MY NUMBERS.

The genre as a whole has groomed us to believe that NUMBERS GO UP is the very pinnacle of all we can and should achieve in games. Should be little surprise, then, that little gaming munchkins like the OP are seemingly obsessed with the numbers and an accompanying binary representation of their trajectory!

Some people, especially wowkiddies, need to know they are playing something that majority of people are playing, because they have no individuality and very little brain power,so they tend to choose what is succesful. It's a kind of mentality that plagues every facet of modern life. Mediocrity as its best

A 10-20% drop on my server, not more, which is normal after the 1st month for any mmo.
Swtor is doing fine.

My server has been holding pretty steady. Infact, I would say the population has actually increased by quite a decent margin. As I was levelling a lot of zones were pretty dead but now the mid to high range planets get around 80 or so people on them during peak hours.

Fleet went from an average of about 100ish to 130-50. Bare in mind on my server the Empire is actually outnumbered by the Republic.

Still subbing! I must say, prior to my credit card first being charged, I did switch from a 6-month subscription to a 1-month subscription to hedge my bets. But the game still continues to be a lot of fun. I'm only level 41 and I have been playing since release, so there's plenty more to go.

You need to let go of your obsession with WoW. There are vastly more WoW hating sheep than there are "WoWkiddies" in fact comparatively the "WoWkiddies" are the independent thinkers. While the full time WoW haters act like they were programmed by the same meme generator.
