Quest bug "the dread masters"

While exploring "The Tomb" area on Belsavis I discovered an interactable "Imperial Agent's Corpse" at -1246,179. I clicked it and received the quest "Tracking the Dread Masters". Later, after backtracking, I received the quest "The Dread Masters" guiding me to the same interactable. I now have both quests and "the Dread Masters" can neither be abandoned or completed.

I just encountered the same problem. Looks like the one to find Operation Group 2 is a bread crumb quest to the body. But if you find the body first and get the next quest, you can't complete the former. Just drop it and move on. That's what I'm going to do.

I got twisted around with the missions there and the same thing happened to me. I abandoned "The Dread Masters", hoping this would fix the bug and I'd be able to pick it up again. Unfortunately I couldn't find the quest giver for it.

I'm just going ahead with the last 2 missions I have and hope I didn't break the main story for this planet.

When encountering a quest related issue, we would recommend you to send a ticket to the customer service in order to get some help with this matter.

We also advise you to use the "Hedgehog" key word at the beguining of your ticket and any relevant iinformation in order to get request processed faster:

I found it by stumbling across the dead agents body and finished it. Then later on I was given the mission to find the body at the end of a conversation with one of the NPCs. I just clicked Abandon on the quest list. You get the "Completed - find their body" (or whatever it's called) when you first clicked on the agents body so there's nothing to gain from doing it again. This could explain why the body is still selectable after finishing the quest the first time. Ideally, the body would not be selectable until you've first received the mission to find it from the NPC.

*Update*
After abandoning the bugged mission "The Dread Masters". I was able to continue on with "Tracking the Dread Masters". I finished the planet with no other issues.

Same issue. Same resolution. Just abandon the "find operations group two" if you previously stumbled upon the body. This simply opens up "investigate vault 914" which I had already received on my first visit to the body. Subsequent attempts to examine the body did nothing.

I just went back to the body again and took the free 1k or whatever xp

I can confirm that this is still bugged. Like the OP I found the corpse prior to getting the quest, so now it cannot be completed. Not sure if you submitted an ingame bug notice (I did before finding this thread).

Reading this it seems abandoning the quest doesn't lead to the chain being broken, so I'm gonna do that as well then.

If you drop "tracking the dread masters" and complete "the dread masters" you get "tracking the dread masters" back again, and the story flows in the correct order with no losses.
