#1 Run the game in Win XP SP3 compatability mode, and/or turn off Aero.
#2 Set lower draw distance in your .ini file.
#3 Turn bloom on, and shadows off.
#4 Download Nvidia Inspector and set FSAA to STALKER compatability.
#5 In Inspector, set LOD to -3.

#6 Have fun!
How are you setting LOD to -3? See my screenshot a few posts back.

If you notice texture shimmering in scenes with motion (i.e. basically all the time), and horrible moire effects, you'll know why.

Agreed but I also find that to be a major problem. Why did BW force the game to come out before it was ready? Because EA wanted them to? They should learn a thing or two from Blizzard and realize that a bad launch can destroy your game. Blizzard just delayed D3s launch based off of internal and closed beta testing.

I find it hard to believe that a lot of the issues people are complaining about now weren't brought up during TOR's beta tests. But then again Blizzard actually makes their own engines so if there's a fundamental flaw with the concept of the game they can actually go in and make changes.
My 2 cents

That's interesting. What GPU are you using?

Right above that setting on my menu I have another section.

Texture Filtering - LOD bias (DX9)

This is what allows me to set it to -2.5 or whatever the video recommended. You seem to be using the up to date version so I don't know why mine has more options. Does turning on Ambient occlusion do anything? I figured it would just cause and enormous FPS hit if it did in fact do anything.

I find it equally disturbing that people are just so quick to glance over obvious inadequacies. It's fine to think the game looks good (I'm with you here) but there are problems. Textures being a huge one and Bioware is just kind of sitting on them for some really stupid reasons.

When the funding body of the project says it's ready, that means it's ready. Im pretty sure that BW can not afford to be sued for breach of contract when the budget was as big as it was.

Nevermind, I found it. The problem was I was opening the .exe file without the CustomSettingsNames.xml file to load profiles and choices! Fixed. Will try this out! Thanks bud.
