That was NOT launch.

WOW Launch:
5 days free play time given due to server outages in excess of 24-48 hours.
NO Honor System
NO Battlegrounds (We thought they were vaporware, in fact)
MULTIPLE Hero classes announced as part of an upcoming Vanilla WOW patch (What happened?)

Then when they launched BGs, AV took a whole weekend to play, and you had to walk to each individual BG entrance to enter and queue, usually to find out that you had an hour+ wait to play. The honor system was based on a sliding scale where if you played less than 100 matches a week, you got nothing. This was just a handful of the problems it had, and the list was in the thousands.

Slave Girls and/or Sexy Exotic Alien Supermodels with large...hearts.

Either one is acceptable to me.

Oh, and the free beer too. We can smelt the ship droid into a bunch of talking kegs.

I was there for vanilla launch. WoW was a shambles at the start. I well remember the Burning Crusade release too, and what a complete pile of crap that was, with massive bugs, days of downtime and many things broken.

Compared to every other MMO I have played from new (and I have pretty much played them all), I think SWTOR has been one of the least buggy releases of a new MMO.

t's not perfect, there are many things that need to be fixed, but on the whole it's a damned competent first release and Bioware have show a will to both fix bugs and release content.

hahaha I remember this!

oh man remember the original PVP system too? the rankings for honor were HILARIOUS.

back then though dude.. it didnt matter because people then just played games and were happy... now they have these insane expectations for a brand new game. mmos need refinement and this game is a month old.

if those that are saying unsub actually unsubbed which i doubt they did, they'll be back in 6 months because 1.5 will be out and this game will destroy souls/lives/employment/education with its quality of entertainment

WOW had a lot of bugs for ANY game launched at ANY time. Being uplayable for days at a time is a timeless flaw, regardless of era.

Furthermore, increased server capacity =/= players leaving.

On a side note, no WoW did not have triple the bugs. Don't confuse bugs with total server overload due to unexpected popularity! WoW was virtually bug-free.
bug free? I have been playing wow for 5 years(until I recently quit) and I can honestly tell you that wow is full of bugs, exploits, hackers, bots, and op addons like gladiatorSA and deadlyboss, so please...

Yeah man. The rose colored glasses are pretty thick around here.
