Watch this and download Radeon Pro. It makes the floors and other surfaces shine much better, plus, as you can see in the video, it makes trees and other objects look much sharper from a distance! Works very nicely, although be forewarned that some of the reflections don't actually reflect the world (pre-rendered).

It won't be a Skyrim, but it's a nice improvement for those with ATI cards. I think there's a nVidia version out there, too. Not sure, though.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!!!! Hope it makes a difference. I'll try it. =\

SWTOR (High settings, which are technically Medium since they have High disabled or something?)
vs
WOW (High settings)

Meh, swtor still looks better. D:
PS: Totally trying out that video. Thanks to whoever posted it.

Oh man this was funny. I laughed.

No they are not, unless you are in dire need of glasses. Anyone claiming it's "fine" to have blurred out muddy textures on almost every piece of armor in a 2012 game is either trolling, ignorant or blind.

Sure they can! You remember what everquest team did with EQ2? Their engine wasn't the best, but no computer on the market could run the game on absolute MAX when it came out 1 month before WOW in 2004. EQ2's engine stood the test of time and only recently has it started to wane a bit. They were looking ahead when making it.

I realize that the whole 'style' they're going for here with SWTOR is what it is, but things like lighting and proper shadows / shaders are something that should be really robust here without crippling the style of the game. But this stuff simply doesn't exist in SWTOR and I don't understand why?

If you actually did some investigation, you'd know that it was just the baseline platform. It's been customized to holy hell to make a unique engine.

It's amazing to me how one person will make a wildly inaccurate statement about something, and then it perpetuates into this mass of blatant ignorance.
I really don't understand your analysis on this? If you take a McDonald's cheeseburger and add mayo, your own lettuce, a tomato, and maybe some real cheese..... its still a McDonald's cheeseburger. Same thing here.

If you think this game looks good you are blind...

I have the game on max with full 1080p and it literally looks like a runny mess..

Bioware has purposely watered down the graphics to the point where I will go on my ship and click the holo deck just to see what my character SHOULD look like.....

I mean even the belt alone is such a huge difference.....The level of detail really blows me away....but Bioware decided that everyone should look like their clothes are painted on and someone threw water on them....

I just dont see how you can think the game looks good lol..

I don't know, but how could anyone be persuaded to leave a game because random player #34564576 said something. Who really cares what they said, you have your own opinion stick with it and ignore people like that. They aren't worth your time.

If BW and other companies would just stop catering to the poor and ignorant. We would have a really nice looking game.

Though I have my suspicions about BW being able to afford it, know how to create it etc.

Moral of the story. If your Min specs aren't listed on the box, don't buy the game then complain. Upgrade, then buy it.
I saw another post you made about the game engine. Do you know if this games hero engine can even offer up dx10/11 features?

You know when you start every post no or you are X you aren't adding anything to the conversation.

If i was playing your game i'd post "Looks great on my computer you should upgrade your 386". But i don't because that's idiotic.
