This is why TOR needed seperate loot bags or chest/boxes throughout flashpoints and similiar, would entirely have circumvented the problem, that was bound to appear and which many already foretold would come.

I did it with my BH to get IA gear for Mako. I've also gotten stuff with my Marauder for Vette (and I kept getting BH gear too for some reason), so I know it's possible. Seems random.

All you need is one ******e who says "yeah yeah, sure" and then just need rolls anyway; we've had more than a few step forward in this thread promising to live up to their full douchebag potential.

Obviously they hadn't done enough to make grouping as aggravating and hassle-filled as possible, so giving my PUG group mates even more excuse to fight over gear was a necessary step.

BW did create a gray area here by making orange items customizable but I think if they wanted anyone to just need on it they would have no stats on them and if you could use that type of armor you could need on it.

I think they left the open need for anyone for the senario I posted above.

These are just my opinions, i dont think my way is the only way, just stating what I think and how I do it.
See, that's the thing, if you agree on that before hand, fine. You all agreed, you all should stick to it. However, if you do not, don't push your moral choice on someone else. It wasn't agreed to before hand, and should not come into play now. And this isn't so much directed at you, but the type of people who want it a certain way due to morals or whatnot, but where no agreement was made prior.

And need was left because of the ability to customize with orange gear AND due to having companions with different gear needs.

PLUS there is a situation that is the opposite of this. Orange IA piece drops, the IA in the group has it already for looks and has better stats, so the Marauder wants for looks. But the IA doesn't WANT him to have it because he feels only IAs should get it, regardless of how the game is designed to allow it. And i've experienced this, not personally, but with others in the group bickering over an item.

did it say "Classes Agent" ??? if not, it isn't "your" gear, its open roll, mods can be swapped, end of story, it isn't the end of the world, it is a game, move on, you will get gear

Cake is a lie; there is only pie.
i need for companions all the time and i've had no one complain

LOL exactly how will this be enforced? People keep saying this like you can black list people, can't be done. Try it, maybe you will find less people to group with.

It all comes down to what you and the folks you're partied with agree on. For instance, my guild has a standard looting procedure for need/greed where we worked out what's "right for us" as far as needing for companions/off-spec/mods/consumables. Our folks know that if they are going to deviate from that procedure, they have to work it out in chat beforehand (which they do all the time when they go for companion gear runs or whatever).

If there's no beforehand agreement, and you have no relationship with the people in your group, then there's no telling what people will do. You can't expect them to conform to *your* system if they don't know what it is. There are enough opinions that there isn't a standard etiquette.

So work it out beforehand.

If someone in your group is acting in a way you don't like, you can't control their gameplay. The only person you can control is you.

So you need to either

1) Agree to put up with it in order to continue the flashpoint; or

2) Walk away and tell them why.

"Sorry guys, I won't group with people that need for companions/off-spec/mods. Best of luck in all your future endeavors," goes a long way towards keeping you sane.

Turning into a need-for-everything-jerk or getting crazy mad and fighting with random people on the internet dehumanizes you.

You probably have limited game playing time. Make the most of it.

Items can be given to companions, too. Not an excuse to screw someone else as far as I'm concerned, however. I only need on companion items if I see everyone else in the group hit greed or pass. If anyone asks why, I explain. Then everyone else usually follows same suit, realizing "Oh wait, I probably should think about my companion if nobody else is going to use this!"

I agree, that is why I always try to agree on loot beforhand. But your right if there was no agreement beforehand then it is a free for all.

I dont try to push my morals on others just wish others used common courtesy in all situations like the last point you made.

There are people that are malitious in intent no matter what and your last point about the IA wanting no one to have it is true.

I am pretty meh on most loot issues as I know I will get something better eventually unless it is a raid or something and in those situations there is always an agreement before we start.
