I, personally, think that this may be too slow. This is now constructive feedback for SW:TOR.

The average human runs at approximately 15 MPH. This is my reasoning for my previous feedback which is relevant to SW:TOR.

All information previously posted is not intended to be inflammatory and is relevant to my interests as a SW:TOR subscriber and player.
The average human does not run 15 mph over distance... That would be a four minute mile.

0.o

Don't see many Jedi or Sith hitting the track last time I checked. Not too sure what that random and very fallible stat has to do with speeders either.

1. It's the sillyness of going under 30 MPH on a speeder.

2. Would you not be able to enjoy the scenery more by moving from location to location on your own? I just alt+tab when I take a taxi to be honest.

No one is asking for incredibly fast mounts. Just something that makes a little more sense.

1) Its not 30 MPH. Human beings cannot 'sprint' indefinately at 24 mph! It is a completely abstracted speed based on game play, not physics.

2) How can you 'enjoy the scenery' while dodging around mobs and trying not to be unseated? IF you alt-tab while on a taxi, perhaps thats your problem....

And really, who would want to run across Tatooine? I mean what a waste of time.
Yeah it's a waste of time, but my point is, actually it's not that much time. There is hardly any traveling grind in this game.

Speeders are fine as they are

Each to their own I suppose, but intentionally gimping yourself by moving slowly over ground which you have already covered doesnt make a lot of sense to me.
Which part of "own routes and riding without rails" did you not understand? OBVIOUSLY I would use a Taxi for that sort of thing if a station was nearby, but thats not the POINT.

I'm talking about custom destinations and places that Taxis don't take you. It's called exploration.

I don't even understand why I have to justify this ****

Remember in Star Wars when Luke takes off on a speeder?

It's like WHOOOOOOSH and it's gone.

It isn't like, put put put slowly off into the horizon.

I vote for reducing walking speed to 50%, then speeders will seem much faster :P

The first speeder licence vehicles do not reach 50kmph.
Second level speeder licence is exactly as fast as the first one.
Taxis do about 80kmph.

No belts, no airbags, and no need to wear a helmet, so I guess that's fine.
Q: So, is there anything at all in the game that mitigates falling damage?
A: elevators

No, but clearly you can be that overly dramatic.

Taxis take you to within 5 minutes of any point on the map at WALKING SPEED. I didnt bother getting my first speeder until after the main quests on Balmora, I just didnt see the point.

At running speed on tatooine the longest I ever had to run for before reaching a quest at the edge of the map was 3 minutes.

I even had a timed mission on tatooine that was quite a way off from the base, it gave me a 45 minute timer and when I had completed the quest I 'only' had 7 minutes left. I shot off thinking 'god its going to take me ages to get back' and I was back at the base within 45seconds.

Peoples perception of time is utterly out of wack with reality if they think it takes a long time to get places.
